Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.
On Call on Prime is good, it's a gritty police drama, only 30-minute episodes.
The Pitt on Max is good also, Noah Wyle back in the ER after 30 years. Each episode is 1 hour of his long shift.
I've watched Ted Lasso all the way through four times and am on my fifth (with my husband, who also loves it). Love that show, but I know it's not for everyone. There were some questionable episodes, but overall it's fantastic. It's not about soccer (I played for almost 50 years), and it's not "deep" or "disturbing" and you don't have to think too hard, so if that's what you are after, don't bother. It's funny and uplifting and has some good live advice.
Dexter OS is starting to grow on me even more now.
Potentially major spoiler below.
Sometimes im really sad i dont have the part of the brain that "figures things out" in books and shows.
Great catch.
I actively try to not figure things out in books and shows. The whole "suspension of disbelief" and getting lost in the show/movie/book is key to fully experiencing the story for me. Other people I watch shows with always seem to know who is getting killed etc, but I prefer to be surprised rather than remove myself from the story and analyze it and figure it out. Not trying to start an argument over which is better, just saying maybe you should feel happy your brain works that way, as imo its a better experience.
American Primeval on Netflix well worth a watch imo. 7.75/10
Landman season finale was good. I really enjoyed this series. I hope they do more seasons.
Absolutely worth time spent. Visceral and gruesome.
Disagree about fall off. It did get a bit convoluted about who was where and when. I might have re-written the ending of one story line.
March 4th Disney+
for NFL aficionados, that's Jim Irsay (Colts owner) -- five minutes into episode 1 of American Primeval -- telling on the Indian girl that steals the knife
lol what?? Why?
The first episode of the new season is good, it's been a minute.
No new Dexter this week because of a pre-planned mid-season hiatus.
Why do shows do this? You've got the episodes. Give them to me.
For anyone into anime I highly recommend Vinland Saga: it has action, drama, excitment, life lessons, and everything.
