Here, he is responding more like a twelve-year who honestly feels he has been unfairly accused. He is incapable of saying that he is horrified that he repeatedly made a gesture that inadvertently resembled a Nazi salute. That would be an adult response.
Still, I have less than zero sympathy for Elon here. He has willfully adopted the mantle of a troll. He has demonstrated over and over that he is has no problem doing or saying wildly offensive things. If that is who you choose to be as a hugely prominent public figure, then you have to expect this sort of criticism and discussion when you make a gesture that looks a hell of a lot like a Nazi salute.

Having someone with as much power and authority as he has openly signaling acceptance of nazi ideals and being excused by conservatives is a real problem and I'm not going to pretend it isn't.

I was reminding you that you can't use video's like the guys in the red shirts as evidence of anything no matter what it is because any video can be faked or made to mislead people but I'm sure you already knew this by default which is why you researched the video.
And no I don't agree that it looks "exactly like a nazi salute". Yes it looks like the video on the left, but did you also ask any WW2 historians if the original salute keeps their arm extended for more than just half a second?
Whether or not it matched the real salute or not though isn't really as important as what the saluter was trying to convey when they raised their arm. It was clear what Elon was portraying, unless he was lying and he's a real nazi looking to take over the world. Elon's actually been fighting against "nazi's" who were in the process of taking away our freedom of speech.
