Also post-pandemic and with streaming sooner, box office has lost some of its luster

Smurfs has been making less and less with each movie. Last one only did $40m, so it's hard to imagine it's gonna make big bucks just based on that.

I debated taking that, but was put off by the release date.

I think that's in it's favour actually. I don't expect huge numbers, but Chalamet Christmas releases have been a recipe for success in recent years!
