The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
Shifty you really need an explanation on why 25% tariffs from Canada's - by far - largest trading partner with an integrated economy is ****ing TERRIBLE for Canada?
You need that spelled out for you?
Sad.
Oh great Trudeau will speak at 8:30 EST he was supposed to speak at 6:30 EST
Why he picks in the middle of Leafs Oilers
Hope it’s a full response and not ketchup and bourbon
Curious how Mexico reacts
This could shut down the auto industry in weeks
Lol these guys who thought Trump would be "good for Canada" are so out of touch they are getting mad at the timing of Trudeau responds. Maybe because this is the worst economic warfare ever launched against Canada and it is more important he get his response right than the ****ing timing of the ****ing oilers game???

Maybe if he would have resigned a year ago and allowed a proper leadership race and a government with a mandate before Trump came in
Trudeau is 100% at fault blocking infrastructure projects like Energy East and Nothern Gateway
Yeah I truely regret my vote for Trump oh wait I don’t have a fracking vote you idiot just an opinion
Will see what the Drama Queen has to say
Imagine being lozen. A person so politically deluded he thought trump would be "good for Canada". Instead of even a moment of self-reflection about what might have gone wrong in his political understanding, he just launches into irrelevant snipes at Trudeau while the guy he cheered for works to decimate the Canadian economy for no possible justifiable reason.

No I approached as well as an American. I have been clear I would never have voted for him . Yes if he had brought back keystone that would have been great for Alberta and Canada
Sadly you just can’t realize that Trudeau has done more to destroy Canada than Trump will.
Show me a post were I cheered for Trump never occurred .
As dumb as you may think an American was it pails in comparison how Stupid one could be to vote for Justin 3 times
How bad does the recession have to be before this changes? How many job loses? How much billions in lost trade?
I get that breaking out of your ideology (the ideology that led you to think Trump would be "good for Canada" quote endquote) is going to be hard. But this is going to be a hard period for Canada. While everyone else suffers, see if you can give an iota to that self-reflection and maybe, just maybe, realize that whatever minor, largely irrelevant quibs about whether a carbon tax is deficit neutral or not it is VASTLY less negatively consequential than what Trump just did.
lol the story is Trump invited Justin a few Days ago to come to Mara Lago and be hour declined
ya absolutely I'd fine any possible leak or way you can blame this on Trudeau and not the guy you thought would be "good for Canada" and seem INSISTENT on doing absolutely zero self-reflection on how you could make a political error of that magnitude.
The rise of right wing populists is a very scary time.
hum weird why would that cause layoffs. I would think it would lead to more jobs for longer drives XD. ITs not like people in Quebec are not gonna get amazon delivery's they just won't have warehouses and will have to outsource more to avoid unions. my buddys job is literally to deliver amazon products from ontario to qeubec
Well it did happened , 1000 jobs from small delivery business .

Mexico is stuck with the same problems while having much higher problems then Canada vs U.S. intention .
Trump is just a dick , Trudeau being in office or not , more pipeline or not wouldn’t change much of anything .
But u are just so blinded by hate …
Trump try in 2018 with the same stupid ideas btw and he lost at that time , it was not positive the slightest in aggregate .
Was it Trudeau fault back then too ?
I feel sad for you really ….
Uke is right , we all told you how stupid it was to believe Trump would be good for Canada and you keep yelling on every rooftops…. no !
Just take the L like a big boy for once .
FWIW I disagree with uke, I’m not sure tariffs will be that bad for Canada presently when our dollar so low (~69 usd) , even with 25% tariffs , our goods will still be a good price for Americans .
It’s not like before when our dollar was at 80 usd +.
Just need cut some more interest rates ,
open the provincial border ,
let American suffer quickly for 2 years with tariffs (they will !!) ,
trump loses again the majority in 2 years
and then we’re good ….

Can you not read ? Go back a page were I admitted I was wrong about Trump if the tariffs come into play .
I have always said if I was an American wouldn’t vote for him
Trump is doing what he thinks is best for the USA some of the things he is doing I support some I do not
Luckily we will have a strong leader in 6 months in Pierre
Let me say in advance if Trudeau hits back strong I’ll give him credit . If he does a small package he’s an idiot
Another delay he can’t decide which socks to wear
Interesting interview on ctv be on both sides of the border about how screwed the auto industry will . How many parts cross multiple times across all the borders . Now a minivan will cost 25% more in the USA . Never realized how many cars are manufactured in Canada
Monday’s Market could be scary

Spell it out...what pain and suffering is going to happen. Just so people itt can hopefully prepare.

My suggestion - if you really struggle to understand why 25% tariffs on Canada is harmful for Canada - is to take a bunch of nootropics at a PPC rally and that self-edification will just come to you.

I'm not the one here calling other posters out and claiming tragic suffering is going to happen. You just asked me if I need you to spell it out, so spell it out.
I thought it was a good strong statement by the drama queen though are you only allowing French reporters to ask questions
This is going to get ugly
BC Premier not buying booze from red states only . No you stop buying all US liquor
25% countertarrifs on 155B. Additional 3B for border security (which won't do anything, it's just a trump-appeasement tax, still, needed given that context). That's strong.
We're at war boys. Some ITT haven't figured out what the problem is yet, but that's ok, most of Canada seems pretty united here.
--According to the Trump administration, they are trying to use the threat (and apparently implementation) of tariffs as leverage to stop illegal immigration and drugs from crossing into the US from Canada.
--The weird thing is you can read 100 articles from American and Canadian media and you wouldn't find a single one that acknowledges this, even to say it is a BS reason. Everyone is kind of just ignoring what Trump's actual stated argument is. I had to do extensive google searching to even find what the stated rationale from Trump for the tariffs even was.
In a sane world this should be a part of every article written on the subject, even if the article argues this is a BS reason. Instead, it is extremely hard to even find what the stated rationale is.
I feel so much of our problems are caused by our MSM being so dishonest and duplicitous, especially when it comes to Trump. Even if you want to say his reasons are BS, you should still be acknowledging what the stated reasons are.

Oh I agree 100% it was a stronger reply than I thought he would give
I’ll be curious what the coverage is like on Meet the Press and Fox News Sunday is like tomorrow.
Every auto CEO is gonna be going WTF
Congrats on having common cause with a more or less failed state run by insanely ruthless organized crime syndicates, that brazenly kills any politicians that try to oppose them.

This isn't reality - fentanyl is mentioned in most articles cbc, nbc, national post, ctv, AP.
And yes it is just a BS justification so that he doesn't have to go through congress to get the tariffs through
I understand we are all being manipulated by the MSM and anti-Trump establishment, that just wants to oppose Trump, at any cost. Even if the whole world burns. But has there ever been any acknowledgement, or has anyone even asked, what does Trump actually want, and is there a reasonable place to meet him?
For good or bad, it seems it is so much easier for third world dictators to deal with Trump than Western democracies. It seems they can just ask him what he wants, find some deal that is mutually beneficial to all parties, and things go relatively smoothly. Most of the time these deals actually benefit the third world dictator more than the US, as Trump is more interested in benefiting himself and his cronies than the US at large.
But for Western democracies, they get so caught up in demoning Trump and being outraged by his antics, that everything just escalates out of control. Which is kind of funny, because Western democracies have much less of a problem ignoring the antics and ridiculous rhetoric of 3rd world dictators.
