Best thread in Las Vegas, again

the food presentation (and pics) on those Guest House shots looks excellent

I mean...tough to make chicken tenders look luxurious but the rest look superb

Best thread in Las Vegas, again

This

we did get TWO foccacias...it was great. I had the risotta croquettes and the linguini a limon - it was excellent....my GF had a beautiful salad and the pizza margherita - and they were both excellent. We were both too full for dessert lol but I did have an espresso. The only thing I would complain about was that the wine list is not for people who want to share a bottle under

John Curtas went off on fountainbleu for their wine prices at all their restaurants. One of the higher ups contacted him and said he was right they will change, he said 3 months later the prices were even worse and he boycotted the hotel, so it’s certainly not just you that notices the crazy prices.

Awesome pictures wj! I know I’m incredibly biased because I’m from Baltimore area, but west coast crabcakes are inedible to me. Dungeness crab just doesn’t have jumbo lump and the meat is not sweet at all, and the filling almost always has strange seasoning like dill in it.

Solo dinner at Sushi Samba, first time there. Free courtesy of Venetian poker comps.

Coffee chocolate boulevardier cocktail.$22 - 10/10, super unique and one of the better cocktails I’ve had recently

King crab classic roll $19 - 7.5/10 pretty standard but good quality crab

Pork belly ramen $28 - 7.5/10 solid but can’t compete with Chinatown’s elite

Unsurprising their cocktail program is a winner but the food is "ok" -- that's been my experience having hosted and attended events there in the past. Good to hear someone agree -- i don't think their food is anything special (much less worth the price).

I used to be a force in the local food scene but since having my 2nd kid (in 2018...), I've struggled to keep up. What are the ramen elite these days?

I don’t know if it would get elite status here, or how popular it is, but I love Silverlake Ramen.

I haven’t been to Silverlake but Ramen Sora is always #1 for me. Ramen Boys and Neko Ramen are both great too.

i am also interested in hearing amazing vegas ramen recommendations for future trips
the collective opinion of this thread has rarely steered me wrong

sad on the operator part, but there should be some real good chicken wing deals coming up this week because orders are sparse all around for super bowl weekend.

I don't know if it would get Ramen status, but I always have fun at Shock Ramen.

Shokku?
shockingly not finding the name you posted

Yes. I mispronounced it. They are one and the same. I tend to wax poetic when I think about noodles.

Forgive me as this is not casual, or it is, and then forgive me for starting that debate again, but I am going to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant soon, and I would love recommendations for what to have and what to stay away from please. I thank you all in advance.

Sora was my favorite until I found Silverlake.

my hunch is you said it correctly in your mind, but the ear wax on your keybored resulted in a funny autocrock

It’s touristy in that the menu is expensive and the food is rather cliche, but my wife and I love it. Most romantic restaurant in Vegas by a mile and the waitstaff is exceptional.

Filet and foie gras is must order and I never order filet. Lobster bisque, lamb, braised short rib, escargot, and steak tartare are must haves. Also definitely order a soufflΓ© for desert.

If you have a special bottle of champagne or wine I would really recommend bringing it because the wine prices are just insane.

I'll try to find my TR for Eiffel Tower for specifics, but we did enjoy it. Went for my birthday. Check to see if they have a corkage fee.

As a side: Mon Ami Gabi's corkage fee used to be $20 -- best deal going πŸ˜‰

Which meal? I have a brunch TR.

Maybe this is true now, I'm not sure, but Picasso was miles ahead for 20+ years and I'm not sure it was close.

Agree completely, although those Bellagio restaurants (outside of Prime), did not age gracefully. Poker boom era, Picasso was some of the best fine dining in America for the price. Was also a huge fan of Alex at the Wynn during that time

There’s some locals that post here and have good info. If they haven’t responded I’m guessing it’s because they don’t have any recs. I’d try Yelp I hope find something good and can report back. I could go for a place that does bbq chicken.

South point oyster bar... fish and chips and tempura shrimp
