Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread
We have the fine dining thread, but everyone needs some good casual places to eat, either on the strip or local. I'm fi

I won't be back for a while, but this is likely the best burger in Vegas.

South point oyster bar... fish and chips and tempura shrimp[/QUOTE]
Fish and chips deal only good prior to 4pm right?
Bbq in Vegas is severely lacking. Best I’ve had over the years was Mabel’s pre covid and a place in Henderson on Sunset that didn’t last a year.
I think one of the problems is that these places open and try to be this universal bbq experience without any authenticity. You go to the best places in North Carolina you can get pulled pork, baby back ribs and maybe 2 sides. You go to Texas, they might have a few more choices but you know certain places in town specialize in brisket or sausage or sides or beef rib or even turkey. Kansas City they have a large menu but most places are famous for one or max two bbq dishes on the whole menu.
Look at that wild fig menu, it’s so huge. John Curtas recently went there and killed the burger but said they had a great pastrami sandwich. If you go to a bbq place and compliment the pastrami, you are probably never going back.

Their pastrami is the best in vegas, it’s legit smoked pastrami and nobody else does one like it that I’ve found. I also thought the burger was solid, don’t know what his complaint was there. Not as good as Yukon though.
Lucky Cat BBQ food truck is the best in Vegas and the closest thing you’ll find to the elite Texas spots. The brisket, pork belly, and beef ribs are all phenomenal. Just look at the yelp pics and their IG @luckycatbbq

There’s some locals that post here and have good info. If they haven’t responded I’m guessing it’s because they don’t have any recs. I’d try Yelp I hope find something good and can report back. I could go for a place that does bbq chicken.
Thanks man.. yeah me to. I just got aware about Jamaican food. I love the flavors they cook with it's def. Different from the normal
We went for dinner, my girlfriend’s basic salad appetizer was the best thing I tried, but nothing was bad, but nothing was that great, the ambience was very nice, service was great, we had (someone paid extra for them) seats right up at the windows overlooking the Bellagio fountains. I got the ribeye with bone marrow, which was good but didn’t stand out, sides were kinda pedestrian. Was a nice experience, got to go for free, but would not pay to go back.

I think Soul Belly is very good. I had Lucky Cat once and it just wasn’t all that memorable. Can’t even remember what I had, but did get multiple things to try. Was disappointing as I went pretty far to check it out.

I think brunch is the way to go value wise, but if was comped, then whatever. It's a very sexy experience if you are sitting by the windows.
I'd probably choose the lamb or duck for dinner, but that's very subjective.
I’d say the view is the best thing there and for that you would want it to be at night.

thank you for the review Mal
happy to scratch that one off of the list based on your honest feedback
Went to bavettes for the burger which was good but not great imo.
But the Brussels sprouts were one of the best things I've ever eaten.
Is there a consensus on best burger in Vegas? Luger’s? I haven’t had a fancy steakhouse burger yet, but based on the above review, Bavette’s won’t be the first I try.
Honestly, not sure I want to drop $40+ on a burger, when there are excellent ones I can get for less than half that.
Yukon’s burger is excellent. Joy burger on DI/Durango is great as well. Need to try Stay Tuned burgers and With Love Always as well. Irv’s in Durango Casino is meh. Any others I’m missing that are phenomenal? Holsteins was great and dropped off and same w Gordon Ramsay’s at PH.

Capones at Fontainebleau was really nice and not too pricey iirc

For the money I don’t think anyone is beating Yukon
