There was both peaceful and violent resistance. The peaceful ones got shot in the knees, too.
Lumping mortar fire with peaceful protest because Palestinians did both is dishonest.
The Afghan government and military were defeated in a matter of hours in 2001. Iraq was defeated in weeks in 2003. The thing is, militaries can be defeated and people can be killed, but they can't be made to cooperate and, if there's resistance, any occupation will always eventually fail.

Afghanistan was 10,000 miles from us, and the costs of losing was pretty much negligible. Israel and the Palestinian territories are right next door and the costs of Israel losing are super high. IMO using Afghanistan and Vietnam as examples are extremely bad and dangerous for everyone, especially Palestinians.
Israel isn't going anywhere, and they do have the capacity to stop the Palestinians. They just dont have the will. But the more they are pushed the more they are going to find it. And the Palestinians are not self sufficient freedom fighters living off the land. The world is more or less completely subsidizing the resistance. And as soon as the world stops doing this, the resistance is over.

The Palestinians (at least in Gaza) would actually be easier to handle if it wasn't for the rest of the world intervening to subsidize them and forcing Israel to fight with 2 hands tied behind its back. They are already in the reservations, they are just being propped up while inside the reservations by outside geopolitical dynamics.
Israel has complete control of the Palestinian territories. From a military perspective, it couldn't be easier to handle "The Resistance." If the rest of the world let them, Israel could set up a giant, completely secure refugee camp in the desert and march every single person in it into the camp, and do whatever they want with Gaza. Even turn it into a Trump resort.
Now I am not saying Israel should try to do this, as the geopolitical costs would be much too high. But in reality it is an extremely unique circumstance. A completely helpless, dependent "Resistance" being propped up by geopolitical dynamics.
Whether or not Israel "won", what is very clear is that the Palestinian people are the biggest losers, and this will continue to be the case until The Resistance is defeated. And if The Resistance is never defeated, the Palestinian people will just continue to lose.

Yeah, unfortunately for Israel they got founded 100 years too late. If they could have started in 1848 this whole thing would be a done deal but now they're bound to modern morals and can't just blockade Gaza and mass starve them. They can't march them either if the people refuse to walk and force them to gun them down. As I said, it's a big nuisance for Israel.

Honestly, after 80 years of Resistance, it seems like most of the people are over it. Most of the people go wherever Israel tells them to. It is really the outside world and a small number of well armed foreign aligned militants propping up the whole resistance; who use fear, brutality and hoarding of resources to get the people to go along with them.
There would have to be proper screening to keep the militants out; but I think most Palestinian Gazans would just go where they were told. They probably want to get away from Hamas and Islamic Jihad and all the other foreign proxies as much as they want to get away from the IDF. They just have no ability to do so.
The rest of the world has done the Palestinians very dirty by propping up violent gangs to use fear, violence and cruelty to rule over them.

Yep. It is working so well in Lebanon. All the Palestinian and Syrian refugees integrated very well, and Lebanon is doing great.

You may have noticed small differences between Native Americans, and bros that have been known to blow themselves up for a cause, are a religion of expansion/conquest, and use their women and children as shields. I mean SMALL differences.

The difference here is Egypt, Jordan, Syria, etc were all very viable places to grant citizenship too. And most of them are genetically traced back there anyway (and not too far back for that matter). There is/was and has always been an obvious path. And we saw India and Pakistan do it. It's not rocket science.
The India/Paskistan model AND the crazy Trump model both make more sense then "get them to build it again, and destroy it again". The third option is the option of cruelty and insanity to those kids. There needs to be something new. The forever building of a city to launch rockets from is not going to work. I say this also accepting a version where they stay, but Hamas is gone (which seems impossible too, but Ill say it).
