Paris and Horseshoe have both been quiet in my experience.
Its been windy here in town...
Yeah, my experience with Bally's rooms facing Cromwell was not pleasant. That may have been the trigger for me now always having earplugs when I travel, just in case.
Iβm very surprised the pricing for late june has been really really fair personally. More so that may or July for some reason
Prices have certainly come down across the strip, things have certainly cooled off this year. I took a quick glance at my Caesars account which has zero play on it (excluding WSOP) and there's a ton of properties where basically the resort fee is more than the nightly room rate...
the town is VERY slow right now...
Fact of the matter right now is that international travel to LV must be plummeting and the economic uncertainty probably plays a big role in domestic visits being lower as well.
That and the pricing got way out of hand in the last 3 years. A reset was/is required.
Vegas is supposed to be a fun/value town. Itβs been so focused on F1 whales that they completely overlooked the bread and butter that makes that place what it is.
bro... you're living in the past. it hasn't been a value oriented destination of decades.
I seriously question the idea that Formula 1 had anything to do with the trend away from 'value'.
what has happened? Corporate takeover and investment ROI performance has taken over the major properties. If the corporations can not effectively run this main resort corridor, I say it's time to allow the Syndicate back into ownership.
there are a few properties that know how to run the casino properties like they used to... Station Casino's and South Point are good examples of this with the later being the most successful.
Been in LV for 25 Super Bowl weekendsβ¦this year was the slowest or felt that way
Perhaps-but I think itβs more related to the proliferation of legal sports betting-

They might be a bit more affordable now too given oil prices have slid. I'm curious to see how much travel is disrupted in the US when drivers licenses will no longer be a valid ID to board a plane come May. It's a non issue for normal fliers but a much bigger issue for people who fly once a year or less.

Tell me more about a drivers license not being a valid ID to board a plane
I don't think the REAL ID driver license will make much of an impact. I was slow getting mine and still got it like 3 years ago. people have to renew their licenses anyway
the impact is, you cant get on a plane without one.
Passport works just fine for boarding.
If your driver’s license has a small gold star in the upper right corner, then it’s a real ID. If you’ve renewed your license in the last few years, you may have already got one.

I mean, it's not like travel will stop but it's going to cause some additional friction for the cohort who doesn't travel frequently. It's also possible they'll extend the deadline again, but they've been delaying it since 2020 and it seems like it's going to stick now. It's also possible TSA is disbanded by then and it moves to a self serve model so who knows.
But conservatively, 60% of americans have a REAL ID and slightly less than 50% have an active passport. Just based on some of the responses I've seen there's going to be a decent number of people showing up to their flights in May and turned away because they don't have a valid ID.
My state has two different drivers licenses: REAL ID and non REAL ID.
That's going to cause a lot of people to be butt hurt when TSA turns them away.
For reasons I don't remember, a while back, I was thinking how antiquated the notions of having weight and hair color on IDs are.
When I first got my license, it was a paperboard document without a photo. Then, it probably made sense to list those things as a backup to the person checking ID. Back then, most people's hair color was more-or-less constant.
Lots of people dye their hair and change it on a regular basis now. Weight (and I suppose height) can fluctuate, though more slowly. But the fact we have a photo on the ID seems to me to obviate the need for the other information.
Though I don't want to party with the pinkeye guy.
