Certainly less aggro...

I dont think that is true for many years now.
Battle of the Ages Over 50 / Under 50 N...

Day 1A - Over 50 years old Jun 22 10:00 AM
Day 1B - Under 50 years old Jun 22 04:00 PM

What McCoy said. More like a bunch of old people sitting around playing cards, having a nice time (though everyone is playing their best ofc).

I will also add I've never witnessed nor heard of a player getting enraged. It's more like, we've all played a million hands an have seen it all, a bad beat is just another hand. Sigh, congratulations.

I bet neither of those was during the (Super) Seniors event.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I decided to go for it and just booked (June 11-19). The weekend that entails has that Warrior thing previously mentioned and I will likely play that as my official wsop event. Other than that plan to play dailies and some cash. I usually take 2 or 3 LV trips a year so it should be interesting to go when the circus is in town. I purposely avoid the summer months due to the heat but figure its time to experience the wsop.

And yes I am most definitely a senior! In fact even more senior than yesterday since today is my birthday. I played a senior event at the Wynn a few years back and ended up being bubble boy. Nothing more disappointing than that!

Happy Birthday Bubble MAN.

Certainly less aggro, absolutely more friendly, and a lot less arrogance. Serious poker but a lot more smiling and joking. Yes the occasional GOM (Grumpy Old Man) but in general significantly less animosity.

some mind boggling play at my 2023 Seniors day 1 tables. Saw a woman call a 5 bet shove in level 1 (200bb) with 77 and get there vs AA. She made the final table!

Some of the play was so nonsensical that you really had to think hard to decide if they were bluffing or value betting and you eventually decided that they just didn't have any idea what they were trying to do

(didn't cash obvs)

Pedantic tidbit derail…per most of govt, you achieved this milestone yesterday

But definitely congrats

ROFLMAO 2nd Hand of the Super Senior last year UTG raised to 3 BB I 3 bet to 13 BB withe KK and got 2 cold callers and the original bettor - Flopped top set of Kings on a multi suited board - bet 45 bb ....................... Was on my way to the rebuy cage while they were playing the 3rd hand. LOL Maybe I should have flipped over some tables 😃 In the early stages anything can happen until the field gets thinned out.

I have a new question! Concerning the wsop+ app. Once I heard I needed this thing I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago. Still need to get there in person to get completely verified.

But once I do get get verified:
I can link a credit card and use that to enter events?
If you register through app is that it? Does it give you your seat assignment and digital reciept? Or do you still have to check in in person pre event?

credit cards, other payments... yes. you purchase online thru the app.
I am not sure about the seat assignment thing... you may still need to get a physical ticket at a kiosk, not really sure about that.
I mean it would make sense you get the seat assignment on the app, but I have not tried it.

ps... you have a Caesars rewards #?

Based on vlogs, it appears you can get your seat assignment thru the app. Lexi Gavin for sure shows no cage/no kiosk visits.

My question is when is your stack in play? Should I reg for the Salute to Warriors before the event starts even though I might be 3-4 levels late arriving? Late reg/re-entry lines for these massive lower buyin tournaments have been ugly in the past.

I have heard that as SOON as you buy in... late reg is -ev

I entered Flight 1B of Colossus yesterday. The way it works is you buy a ticket in the app for the event you want to play, you can buy it weeks, days, hours, or seconds in advance of the tourney (if you use a non-cash method - if you use CC you will have to go and stand in a line to have CC verified, if you use ACH, which is providing a routing # and Checking account #, there is no additional verification). Then when you are ready to enter the tourney, in the app you click the event again, and register. Then, pretty quickly (give it a minute maybe, but probably less), the app will show you a seat assignment. Make your way to your seat, once there show your seat assignment in the app to dealer, and a photo ID. Then they give you your starting stack.

Yeah, I am 2/3s verified just to get there in person to be fully verified.

You get a seat assignment via a QR code. My guess is it's essentially blank until the morning of. I had t go chase a WSOP official down t read my ticket. It was annoying to schlep all the way to Paris to get told I was in the wrong place because my event was in the Shoe.

Make sure you have your phone with you. The dealer will want to see your receipt even though they don't need it.

So, you can reg and pay via CC in app but you still have to wait in line to verify CC? I am probably only going to enter one event or maybe a daily too if I bust day one. How oppressive are these lines you have to wait in? I'm fine with a short line assuming I get CC cash back. Then again I am fine paying cash. Just don't want to get tied up in an ultra long/slow line.

Yep, pay in app via CC prior to getting verified. For my CC verification, they also verified my ID and app at the same time, guy said there was a different line for ID/App verification, but he was bored and technically any window in the WSOP area can verify App/ID. I walked in and there were zero people in line, was at like 3pm on Wednesday. Took 5 minutes total maybe, and when I was done there was no one else waiting.

Cool, sounds like no problem

When you use a CC to fund the app, doesn't your CC threat that as a cash advance and charge ~5% cash advance fee?

So far, no. In my Bank of America app, it is showing as just $500, but technically it is still pending...
