Donald J. Trump (For everyone else)

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Will or Wil or something like that.

I have to hand it to Wil (or Will) as he was the first I heard predict that right wingers would completely take over the US govt and start hunting liberals down like vermin.

Weird to think that Mat and Mason aren't here anymore. The Sklanskies could take a little heat, but man, looking sideways at Mason was an instaban.

You need to learn to respect the last hard working man ever employed by the census bureau.

I wonder if narcissist and sensibility go hand to hand together .

I wonder if narcissist and sensibility go hand to hand together .

yes, it is very difficult for a narcissist to give an honest appraisal of themselves and thus fail to see when something they do goes wrong could have possibly been because their plan or execution needed improvement

I wish we could all agree to just put this POS on ignore and never respond to him again.

Never too late to join the band wagon.

I gave him an honest chance when I first stumbled across these threads - to find out what americans (lol) think about the geriatric elections. Quickly blocked him due to his eternal quest to derail literally every potentially interesting discussion into, admittedly very honest, sociopathic levels of libertarianism, well before he posted increasingly erratic fallacies like this childish hatred against health care workers from apparently unprocessed trauma.

Lol. I think you've been through this before.

And the reason Mason and Mat closed the forum was because the Trumpy people just whined and whined and whined about how unfairly they were modded. Do you do that?

I'm gonna go look up the main culprit. I think I can find them.

eta: I guess a lot of **** was deleted on exiled - I think that's gone. I don't remember who it was that was complaining so relentlessly in atf.

I think that juan Valdez, aka hole in wan, was one of the whiners in chief.

Closures sucked for one of my kids and worked out pretty well for the other. Aside from being bad for one kid the closures were good for me. That kid was home a lot which was nice...for me...but she missed out on a lot and I would certainly have had her go to school if possible.

I mean, not to brag, it's a low threshold, but that's what honesty looks like. I don't have feelings that are exactly one way or the other 100% about it. You could try the same kind of thing instead of that nonsense a

It was negative for both of my kids but much, much, much worse for the one that already was predisposed to be distracted and withdrawn.

You've convinced me. I'm just gong to go ahead and do it. So sick of it.

Non American here, is there any remedy in the American system for an economically incompetent president unilaterally tampering with the world's largest economy on an hourly basis?

Tariffs aren't a constitutional power of POTUS, congress delegated that to POTUS with several laws throughout the years, so in theory at any moment congress could pass a law removing tariff powers from Trump.

It's almost impossible to think republicans would be willing to do that currently though, but if they wanted to, they could at any time.

the dumb train keeps on rollin

remember when Trump would whine on and on about the weaponisation of the Justice Dept?

I really hope the next dem president has the balls to hunt this man down and throw the book at him. Unless he dies before we get there.

You can thank him, praise him or offer mild criticism that isn't really criticism. Bonus points if you used to criticize him harshly, but are now ready to sacrifice your first-born in his name. Personal opinion is discouraged, so best look to Twitter for some inspiration.

Anything else is the work of a deranged leftie who wants the communists to win.

For mine it was just that it was her senior year in HS and she missed out on a lot. My other kid had started college, got her first year in the dorms in a private school and that was a good experience, then did classes at jc remotely during closures, then xferred to UC after closures. Worked out pretty well.

I'm guessing your kids are younger and that I know was harder on kids and parents.

This tariffs thing might well be the end of Trump. I lol about the fact that the cockwomble slaps on tariffs, then gets enraged when similar reciprocal tariffs get imposed, and threatens even higher.

This for example:

EU says it will 50% whiskey tariff on US, Trump moves to 200% tariff the other way cos the EU tariff is 'nasty'...

(Note the infantilisation of the language... suggests cognitive decline... though that's a side-note)

Much as I loathe the EU, I have to love this:

EU officials have said they deliberately targeted products made in the states of Republican senators in a bid to boost opposition among lawmakers to Trump’s aggressive trade measures.

by Luciom k

I furiously studied the details of the regulations as soon as I could and talked around as much as possible with smart people, then decided to get me and wife fake-hired by a realtor friend as assistantst

Apart from the furious part none of this happened in real life, of course.

Much

Yeah, the EU threatened to do that Bush' steel tariffs as well, targeting red states and swing states.

Whether it will be the end of Trump. I dunno, the last decade his supporters have generally preferred ignorance. Perhaps if it gets to a point where they can't afford ignorance, but they have seemed content with blaming everyone else for his mistakes for 10 years.

Anyone else find it weirdly creepy and deeply telling that not only does Leon constantly parade his kid with him, he’s got like 70 of them but it’s always the same one whose name is a bunch of numbers and letters for a name?

It sounds like my kids were about five years younger. One of my kids had recently switched schools and the other was scheduled to do so the next school year. Switching schools during that period was very difficult for a variety of reasons.

I just judge politicians and bureaucrats for their policies and politics. I don't know them personally, I don't know their life, I don't know their thoughts, I don't care how they look and for the most part I don't care about their personal life unless it is hypocritical.

What they say in public or on social media matters though, even if done as a private person. It speaks to how responsible you are to your office and position. Also, at some point of popularity as a person and importance of position, your private and official statements get intertwined whether fair or not.

As a bureaucrat Musk seems incompetent, he is very likely corrupt and he is certainly fraudulent.

Maybe we should just have the kids eat tallow.

Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) seemed to defend the Trump administration’s cuts to local food purchasing for schools and food banks, saying Thursday that “canned food” and other non-perishable options can also be “wholesome.”

I'm scratching my head with this one. He's no worse than any of trumps other idiot picks.

But his skepticism of established science around vaccines made him a popular pick among allies of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the new secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
