SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and diff
What about tire in the exhaust sense?
Laze, lounge, empty, lethargy, bore, annoy anything?
Nah, it's too confusing to clue it that way if so. Tired would be much more clear.
I know he could've clued tyre to make it super obvious which definition he was after, but I'll just put that down to being American and not really thinking about it.
No matter how hard I try, I can't make tire and bucket connect in any meaningful way.
Should we just guess vehicle or something and go from there?
Yea I suppose, Im struggling to connect them just like you
Anything with someone getting tired carrying a bucket? Like operating a waterwell or something like that
I'm good with whatever you wanna bold if you can't think of anything, I'm totally stuck
Yeah, I mean obviously I'd like to guess something that at least could be correct, but I got nada.
vehicle
Not vehicle.
I’d say a decent % (over 50% imo), but I also have no idea how to estimate beyond that and others might disagree.
p4/6 or p7 should get this. Unless you guys want to go the f route, which could maybe get there.
P4/p8 p8 gets this now
Not sure what p6 or p7 is
Agreed on p8, and it seems like PC knows it.
Yeah p8 imo
pushcart
Something like a trolley came to mind first
No idea what that has to do with bucket or tire
Wheelbarrow imo
As I was opening the thread I was like something like wheelbarrow seems impossible and could work
Yea I'm good to bold that if you are
wheelbarrow
Yeah, that’s it. Nice job
I was between bucket and barrel for b6. Would barrel have helped more attached to tire?
Yeah, thatβs it. Nice job
I was between bucket and barrel for b6. Would barrel have helped more attached to tire?
I don't know, maybe? Hard to say after the fact. I think putting tire to the left of bucket would've helped, but still tough to know if we would've got there.
They were good clues for a tough word.
Yea woof that's a tough word, feels like it easily could have taken way longer
great job; tire+bucket is much much much more obvious when you know the word than the other way around
my t6 was trolley, but I felt pushcart was better and if you didn't get from trolley then where do we go
my other t4 was tilt...I thought tilt + pushcart would get you there, but then I started thinking tire would have a shot at in 2...also hoping you noticed tire not tires as not many things only have one tire...but that mostly helps after you get pushcart clue
one of toughest words on the list and the letters weren't great
was also worried when ibd mentioned b6 bc they call them barrow in australia so didn't want d1 thinking barrow/wheelbarrow was out due to b6 so that along with b being on the left towards p was why I wanted b6 clue to be given
Round 3:
Cards used: 4
Guessers: ervin/zeus
The Board:
UNKQ | IH | S | M | C | DL | EF
The target word:
I've pmed the word to ibd, d1, bolt, pogcrazy
e7 comes to mind
i5 also
n4/n5, d4 and f4 are in the domain
Q4 seems solid, similar to d4. I haven't figured out these other clues yet.
my bad for forgetting Google uses AI at top of results
they said this...the last line about 'Moss Wheelbarrows uses barrows in the name' shoulda been a clue given it's Moss Wheelbarrows, not Moss Barrows
Google AI:
In Australia, wheelbarrows are commonly referred to as "barrows".
Common Term: "Barrow" is a widely used term for wheelbarrows in Australia.
Example: You might hear someone say, "I need to get my barrow from the shed," instead of "wheelbarrow".
Brands: Some Australian brands, like Moss Wheelbarrows, even use "barrows" in their name.
tho I find a few instances on Moss Wheelbarrows website, to be fair, like where they call them 'Our Aussie Barrows' and in their screenshots of mobile text testimonials, a few people call them 'barrows' so I guess it does happen, just not common
Yeah, that's weird. I don't think I've ever heard anybody refer to it as a barrow in my life. I mean I'm sure there are people out there that call them that, but I doubt it's more common than it would be anywhere else in the world.
hoping someone has a banger here
Do you know q4? Not a lock by any means, but imo it's a banger for the letters we were given.
