Putin is hemming and hawing and making vague conditions over the ceasefire, which is not what Trump wants, he wants his quick deal, so this may not play well for Putin and meanwhile the US is increasing economic sanctions against him.
The Russian demands for a cease-fire are ridiculous.
They are essentially demanding unobstructed passage to Kyiv for their tanks when the cease-fire is over, and they are also demanding similarly unobstructed passage for their armies to to Warsaw, Chișinău, Vilnius, Talinn, Riga, and Helsinki in the future. This while simultaneously requiring other European countries to sign that they will do not mobilize, prepare or train for such a scenario, nor oppose it when it happens.
The only debate is whether the demands are a diplomatic "**** you!" or if they are the result of similar group-think and miscalculations that led them into this quagmire.

It is pretty telling that despite being a wanted war criminal everywhere but Russia; Russia sucks so much that he changed his name and tried to start over in Finland so his children wouldn't have to grow up in the suckiness that is Russia.
It seems the people of Serbia and Hungary arena the middle of their own fight not to end up in Russia's sphere of influence.
