Interesting how US boycott is gaining momentum.
Yet his poll numbers at home are still historically through the roof. And this is CNN touting the numbers.
Not if Trump actually signs the pardon. The left is so lazy and arrogant it thinks it can get away with a fake signature.
Remember when trump said he doesn’t have to sign anything to declassified documents ?
Just thinking about it was enough lol.
Ha yes Biden didn’t used a real pencil, omg , illegal …..

All part of the plan.
The US has massive trade deficits with all these countries, so the US can enact reciprocal tariffs/boycotts to shut off these nations importing into America, freeing the American market for American companies.
Of course everyone gets poorer in the process. But that appears to be the petty, zero sum world we live in now. Interestingly, Mexico (of all countries) appears to be handling this the best. So while European and Canadian markets engage in tit for tat and become shut off from America, maybe Mexico will become even more of a trading partner than it already is.
WINNING"Trump Declares Biden's Autopen-Signed Pardons "Void""Overnight, President Trump declared that the 11th-hour pardons, including those given to members of Congress who investigated the January 6 insurrection, were "void, vacant, and of no further force or effect, because of the fact that they were done by autopen." Some of those last-minute pardons include Deep Staters, s
It takes a special kind of stupid to believe Trump can void Biden’s pardons by declaration.

I think Trump's general strategy is to just throw a bunch of **** against the wall and see if it sticks. If it appears he can get away with declaring the pardons "void" he will probably try to act on it. And if he meets sufficient resistance, he will just drop it and move on to the next thing.
He (so far) isn't meeting much resistance in deporting pro Hamas/Hezbollah foreigners, so he is continuing with this. He did meet some resistance with the whole "annex Greenland" thing and seems to have dropped it and moved on.
I am guessing no one is going to buy the "voided pardons due to autopen" thing, and nothing will happen and he will move on.
Probably true but that doesn’t stop his meathead followers from believing the pardons are void. They eat up anything daddy says.
Why is Conor McGregor giving a sanctioned coked up rant in the whitehouse?

Ever think the U.S. got trade deficit it’s because they have so much money annd a strong currency it’s easy for them to buy offshore ?

You just realize that ?
Remember when he said it was ok to sometimes not respect the constitution?
How fast he backtracked from it ?
Taking everything happening today , that should raise concern on how far he is ready to go wouldn’t you say ?
I just can’t imagine with all trump did the last couple months , if Biden did it how crazy he would have been called …
First of all, we should get the obvious out of the way. While this quote is often attributed to Goebbels, there is no evidence he ever said it. Which is somewhat ironic. On the contrary, while Goebbels was a big proponent of political propaganda, especially in his role as Gauleiter for the Nazi party, he actually regularly contended that propaganda should be based on truth. Good post obv.
The nazis meticulously recorded what they did. They detailed everything, the reports, Himmler's speeches, all which justified the exterminations of the jews as a necessary act. The SU did the same and China documented everything showing their discussions of "cleansing" the revolutionaries.
They weren't ashamed, and they weren't fabricating. They tweaked and manipulated reality with repetition and emotional appeal to make their atcions seem justifiable - And this style of propaganda still works perfectly well today with convincing both the far right and left today.
yeah at the very early days of the revolution, mao would receive a report that the cadres have cleansed 400 bourgeoise in a city and that they believe they've gotten rid of the staunchest elements against the revolution and will be good to go moving forward
he'd respond to the report with orders like this, "there are 3 million people in that city, surely there are more, cleanse 20k"
jfc never thought i'd find myself ever agreeing with morissey
Diversity means diversity. Conformity means ethnostate with one race, one religion, one culture, one party, one ruler
If I say down means up, youd call me an idiot and argue till your face turned blue

Yeah. But it seems everyone is pretty much in agreement that isn't sustainable anymore, or even desirable. Foreign countries (eg. Canada) are dumping their US treasuries and starting to move off the dollar. It seems the whole world is in agreement they dont want the US dollar to be the world reserve currency anymore, but they still want the US to continue going into massive debt being the world' defense supplier and have massive trade deficits in their favor.
I understand this was all the US idea in the first place. But that doesn't mean now that things are ending the US is obligated to act on behalf of other countries against their own interests by keeping the parts of prior global order other countries desire, and getting rid of the parts they dont want.
It seems the people of every country wants to boycott the small amount of US good they import, but are furious when their own much larger export industry to the US is threatened with any contraction.

Bold seems a little of an overreaction given the dollar index is, yes, lower than it was 3 months ago, but a lot stronger than it was on average in the last 15-20 years.
What changed wrt trade deficits, before Trump shenanigans, was the USA becoming a net producer of fossil fuels. That was going to change trade deficit structurally anyway, reducing them no matter what.
Countries have been disliking treasuries for a while now but individual and institutional investors around the world have been piling up bets on the sp500 en masse to compensate. USD denominated assets are still very much sought after. And a lot of developing countries and companies in those countries still issue USD denominated bonds.
USD dominance was a little too much for my taste in the recent past and if it gets reduced a bit as it's happening that's a positive (just in terms of lower concentration of risk). But as for now, USD dominance isn't going anywhere yet.

How much of this is other nations deliberately devaluing their own currencies to maintain trade imbalances with the US? I believe this is something China specifically has been accused of doing.

Even if they were doing that, which i don't think is the case currently for major currency pairs (eur, jpy, gbp) that matter the most for the usd index, it would still mean other countries selling their own currencies to... buy USD, which is the literal opposite of what you previously claimed they are doing.
You can only devalue buy overbuying the currency you want to devalue against
Yeap... there are no surprises here, just as we all expected!
