You have to be careful about which type of booking you select on MGM because some promos are refundable and some aren't. I think if you read the fine print you can always find a refundable option. I guess it's possible that they could change this, but that has always been my experience in the past.

Hello everyone!

I'm a first time WSOP visitor from the UK. Excited to give it a shot! I have my trip booked for June and July.

I have a question about wiring funds over. I have seen that two options are generally good:

1) Wiring money to Paris or Horseshoe directly and picking it up from the cage (?)
2) Depositing on WSOP.com (or something like that) and buying in directly

I'm not sure if I understood those options correctly, it's a bit hard to find accurate information, since they changed the system in 2024 to some third party app? Really not sure. Could anyone please recommend the best way to get money there to buy into tournaments? (I'm able to have money in a US bank account through Wise so it's just a matter of the best way to send it in, either to pick up cash there, or to buy in directly online or something.) Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!!! Super excited to play my first Main.

Caesars and the WSOP NO longer accept wire transfer under $100,000 as of 2024. They required the app approach or a Cashiers check for smaller amounts I have not seen the rules for 2025 yet but assume they are the same.

The best way for international is to probably set up a WELLS FARGO bank account and simply withdraw funds directly at the bank and then set up a TBIC players account with the WSOP cage paying them in cash.

Personally I won't use the App. Too many data breaches occur (in general) and they require a LOT of information and access rights to your bank account that I am uncomfortable providing

This isn’t the News, Views, Gossip forum. And yes, some humans can go 7 days w/o food. And some humans can’t go more than a few hours due to health conditions, need to take medications, diets, etc. There is a lot of variability in the human condition. You may not “feel” the stress of the things other people require, but surely you’re intelligent en

Lmao originally I’m quite sure this was in a thread in NVG and mods did a little housekeeping. Yeah sure you can go for the outlier exceptions but yes given that my EQ is through the roof I do understand my man

But my view that was originally in NVG stands.

The easiest way is just to buy into the tournaments on bravo poker live with your credit card.

This is also my preferred method of buying in. Quick and easy and no lines to wait on, unless it's for a rebuy and there's the line to get your seat.

However, be aware that there's a service fee for using a credit card when paying via bravo poker live. I don't remember the exact rate, but it's something in the range of $30 per $1000, give or take. But when the registration line is out the door and the wait is an hour or more, I have no problem paying that fee to not have to wait at all.

There's been some talk about the WSOP Plus app being ready for the series this summer. There's been nothing but good things said about that app, so if that's announced and ready, I would suggest looking into using that. If you monitor the WSOP feed on twitter, that's one place they'd likely announce it.

If anyone decides to use Wells Fargo, there's a branch in the airport.

I hope they have the WSOP app ready. It makes registration much easier. It's very fluid. You avoid long lines and go right to the table. I would prefer to wire a bunch of money to WSOP app and be ready to to go.

Why didn’t the app work last year? Shouldn’t be too hard to figure something like that out?

If anyone decides to use Wells Fargo, there's a branch in the airport.

There is another one on Spring Mtn Rd about 2 1/2 miles from the Horseshoe.

Oh and for THOSE choosing to use CASHIERS CHECKS this year this is the correspondence I received - fundamentally the same process as last year.

Hello XXX,

Thank you for the interest in the 2025 WSOP. Yes, if you are going to use a cashier's check make it payable to Paris Las Vegas Property LLC along with your first and last name, Caesars Total Rewards Number. Email photocopy to our credit department for verification at [email protected]
7 days before your arrival in Las Vegas to save waiting time.

Please do not forget to bring the original check with you to the Paris Cage in the Champagne room in the convention center.

Thanks again

*** When you email the copy they contact your issuing bank to make sure it is a valid check and still funded *** after that it is a snap to set up you TPIC account at the cage when you present the original check. Realize though that this isn't a bank to take money out of. It is for WSOP entries only and give you funds back when you close the account.

There is a big Wells tower tucked away in the Howard Hughes Parkway behind the Venetian and Flamingo. Looks like a corporate office, but they have a branch on the ground level.

I did this last year and it worked fantastically. The only difference from what is shown here is I had the check made out to my own name. Did same process and signed over to them when I arrived with no issues.

I did it last year also and you are absolutely correct - I had the check made out to myself. The only problem I had was with my bank being willing to confirm that the check was still funded when the WSOP called. Just my banks policy to not confirm which I got them to make an exception to. As far as Paris and the WSOP it was a slam dunk and easy all the way thru. It beats carrying HUGE amounts of cash and I don't really want to set up a new bank account with Wells Fargo (probably the most convenient / easiest LV national bank choice ) . You still need to bring enough cash for NON WSOP events and Cash game play but it really is a clean and simple process for your WSOP play. (although the $2 or $3 service charge per event via the TPIC is a trivial irritant LOL )

Except that you can't buy into the Main via a credit card. That's my understanding anyway; I've yet to play the Main.

Thank you everyone for the advice. For now I will store my dollars in my Wise account. Then closer to the date I will see the best option available. If the app is available then great. Second best seems to be wiring money to the casino cage directly; I guess I'll ask them about that when I'm there. And as a last resort I'll see if I can open a Wells Fargo account as a non-resident and do a cash withdrawal. Super super excited to visit, I've been watching WSOP online for years and it's always been a dream of mine to play in the Main. Hope to meet some of you guys at the table (ideally the final one).

I confirmed the pay to issue. Definitely it has changed.

Hello XXXX

Yes, we are aware you had the cashier's check made out to yourself and had it signed over to Paris Las Vegas Property LLC. Please, if possible, can you have the cashier's check made payable to Paris Las Vegas Property LLC.

Thanks in advance

I would research the wiring to the "cashiers cage" carefully before you attempt that route. Personally I have wired to the WSOP / Paris Cage in 2023 when it was allowed for less than $100,000 but as previously stated it is NOT allowed in 2024 or 2025. Wiring to the cage for Casino play is different but it is my understanding they will give you Casino Chips only (hopefully someone with first hand knowledge can confirm or correct me ) . Now as I recall they DO accept either Paris or Horseshoe chips at the WSOP cage. Again just make sure you know all of the wire transfer rules going directly to the Casino cages before considering this as an option. Enjoy the WSOP there is only 1 first time so give yourself time to soak it all in and get the maximum pleasure from that bucket list item.

Might be a silly question, sorry if it is.

Is there any clarity about which day that Day 2 of the $1K PLO Mystery Event will be played? The two day 1s are on Tuesday July 8th and Wednesday July 9th. The structure sheet says Day 2 will be Friday, July 10th, which isn't correct as Thursday is the 10th. Is Day 2 Thursday the 10th (what I am assuming at the moment) or Friday the 11th?

Day 2 for any WSOP tournament will always be the day immediately after the final day 1 flight, whenever that happens to be.

In your example, I would plan on day 2 being Thursday, July 10th.

If you put $$ into a TBIC account at the WSOP you must remember to go to the "payouts" room and request a wire or check for the (hopefully) balance before you leave Vegas. Not something that is usually front of mind after busting for the last time of the summer.

The casino cashier is not a bank nor an atm. They do not want to be custodians of your money. They accept wires as a convenience to customers of the casino. You will be expected to gamble those funds in the pit or on slots. That does not include going to the wsop cage to buy-in to an event. The wsop is not considered part of the casino.

RealMcCoy is correct, the cage will give you Paris/Horseshoe chips (or a TITO slip for slots). Now, is anyone going to physically prevent you from going to the wsop with those chips? No, they are not. But the casino will know about it. So, it might work for you...exactly one time.

If you do decide to wire to a casino, make sure you talk with someone first so they know it's coming (your host or a cashier supervisor). They will also be the best source for the specific rules/restrictions that will apply to the funds.

Good Luck!

Does anyone know how secure the hotel room safes are in Vegas?

I tend to bring a bit cash with me to Vegas in June to get me started with various tournaments. I leave the cash in my room safe but I’m never certain that if some weasel gets into my room during the day (maybe while the maid is cleaning) he can’t get into my safe.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

One of my side hobbies is picking locks and trying to crack safes. So I’ve looked into this a bit but a lot of my info is from within the locksmith/lock pick realm so maybe take it with a grain of salt. Most of those guys can easily bypass any lock or safe so if it’s not the best of the best, they minimize and exaggerate the ease to crack.

With that in mind, I’ve never heard positive things about any hotel room safe. There are default codes that most people don’t change that will open them. Even if changed, the hotel still has other codes to override and get in.

All that said, I personally don’t know anyone who has had any trouble with them. I just know it’s sort of a false sense of security and someone, staff or otherwise, who has ill-intent could get in.

I just choose to believe most people are good and don’t have that intent or knowledge to get in.
