His idea of war is game-based. He sees a set of rules that force the parties to stack their respective forces up and duke it out until one side is wiped out.
Of course, that is not how you fight someone with superior numbers and easier logistics, and especially not today.
A basic recipe against an American occupation that aims to keep escalation to a minimum would probably look something like this:
1. Conspire with friendly diplomats / intelligence to surveil potential military action.
2. Make sure the Greenland cabinet has a direct line to you so they can request a troop presence, this to prevent the US to claim they are liberating Greenland.
3. Have an evacuation plan ready for the Greenland government. This isn't Ukraine, you aren't planning to hold a line, you're planning to hold the institutions intact.
4. Have diplomatic agreements in place that immediately trigger condemnation of the US occupation and refusal to recognize Greenland as US territory.
6. Invite media to Greenland to document the invasion.
7. Post troops that force the US to escalate to threats and gunpoint, this to prevent the US to claim the occupation was peaceful.
8. Use the diplomatic tools at your disposal to condemn the invasion and influence as many governments as possible to recognize the Greenland government as the legitimate government of Greenland.
9. Continue this until there is a US government that rejects Trumpism.
