I don't think you can conclude that someone is smart based on their preference in ideology. I do think you can conclude that someone is smart based on how how they argue their politics. I think it is very difficult to conclude that someone is stupid based on how they argue their politics.

Or to say it another way. Stupid politics isn't necessarily a sign of a stupid person. MAGA is an exceptionally stupid ideology that celebrates its own willful ignorance and lack of consistency, but there are plenty of clever people who embrace it.

I love the idea that I've watched her content for years and you're seeing her for the first time today and you know what she looks like better than I do. I've seen her with and without makeup, with and without filters, and dressed up and in sweats. And to suggest she isn't drop dead gorgeous even in the picture you posted is just flat reality denial.

Not in good faith no, not the stupid parts (like tariffs with Canada or invading Denmark).

A lot of MAGA isn't stupid, just "extreme" value wise vs what a lot of people got accostumed to.

But the stupid nuggets can't be defended by smart people. Smart people in MAGA either do not actually defend them (there is a huge opposition to tariff among very smart very rightwing people who are happy trump is president instead of Harris), or if they do it's for within-MAGA clout and power and influence and in total bad faith.

Same is true ofc of stuff like rent control on the left, or anti-nuclear among climate activists and so on

Yeah that's true, but I think he said something about Hollywood types not counting.

Both are very wealthy. One is a lifelong Republican. The other is not. Both would say that they dislike Trump but hate the progressive wing of the Democratic party even more.

I strongly suspect that both thought they would benefit financially from a reduction in the regulatory state.

Well, I mean the post I was responding to posted 3. Was that where the line is? I didn't know there was a quota. I thought we were just throwing out examples of people on our side of the aisle we find attractive. I wanted to give an example to counter the fake blonde, anorexic, no idea how to do makeup style that was given as an example of attractiveness. Sure I could give more, but I don't see the point.

I'm sure you'll say something about age, but I don't find age relevant. If you think that makes it unfair for attractiveness comparisons, maybe talk to the people that chose middle aged women for their examples?

I already l mentioned the reasons that older women were given as conservative examples, and there were at least 5.

Who said I could only think of young women? I didn't say age is irrelevant to attractiveness, I said age is irrelevant. I find younger women more attractive than older women. This discussion didn't start out as "conservatives have way hotter middle-aged women" and I'm not trying to respond to any derails along those lines. I have no interest in limiting this to middle-aged women and have no idea why you are so interested in such a comparison. I simply don't care about that comparison. Why would I try to think of less attractive women when trying to give examples of the most attractive people on our side of the aisle? You aren't making sense.

I didn't talk to them about Congress. I haven't asked, but I suspect that Trump has gone harder on tariffs that they expected. They probably thought he would back off on the tariffs relatively quickly and claim victory
