cant wait to see how much you've improved in a couple of weeks TBE

Once the trees have leaves on them I won't be able to spray it all over off the tee, so my scores my get worse!

+2 thru 9 holes today. 0 Birdies. 2 bogeys.

I actually hit the ball really good. Skanky drive on the 1st but other than that it was pretty good.

2nd drove it pin high to the left of the green difficult up and down though.

3rd is the drive I'm always worried about. Hit it down the right side of the fairway.

4th and 5th par 3's middle of the green and 2 putt.

6th long par 4. Hit a great drive. Don't think I've ever hit 8 iron into this green more so to a back flag. Had a decent strike slightly pulled to a left flag and went in the bunker didn't get up and down.

7th Par 3. Middle of the green 2 putt.

8th Short Par 4. Wouldn't ever hit driver here but did today hit a decent drive just leaked right and was in some thick rough short sided. Didn't come out well had to chip on and 2 putt for a 5.

9th great drive again sort of lucky as it was just short of this pond they put in. Thought I hit a decent pitch but come up short in the fringe. Made Par from there.

I may have found a little fix for my left shot. I felt like when I was taking it away I was just ripping it inside and sometimes I'd feel so stuck so I'm probably reacting to this a bit and just flipping it to save it. Now I'm just really focusing on set up and then when I take away making sure I getting a full stretch if that makes sense. I haven't had a duck hook balls yet when executed properly.

Other than that the weather is great at the moment. Shorts and T-shirt weather! I'm actually going to start working out a little to lose a bit of my belly, I could rely on my football to help me maintain however since the achilles I've let myself slip a bit. Will slow down on the eating whilst also try and eat a bit better as well.

budding trees should have nothing to do with 41 putts

+19 Par 72(36/36) (49/42) for 91 at (70.3/124 6200 yards). Played once here last year and shot 99. Trees are naked, so you can hit it almost anywhere and not be in awful shape.Hit 4/14 fairways, 7/18 greens. 41 putts, although some were from the fringe. (Was on the back fringe of a par 5 in 2 and made par. Ugh.) Hit 2 toe-slice shank-like iron shots. Putting wasn't good

Walked a 35/36 Par 71 (69.4/123) 6059 yard course yesterday after sneaking out of work early. It was 8 weeks to the day from my surgery to have my big toe joint fused and my 2nd toe shortened. Way less discomfort now than pre-surgery. Should only get better.

+7/+11 (42/47 89). 35 putts. 1 birdie, 3 pars, 9 bogeys and 5 doubles. Chipped in for par on the 6th hole, had 2 3-whacks and a 1-putt. 5/14 fairways, 2/18 greens. Hit my driver really well. If I missed the fairway, it wasn't by much. Hit my irons horribly, but scrambled my ass off. Hit some really good chips to give myself chances to get up and down, just couldn't make the putts. Played the 4 par 3s at +6. I'm better from 210 yards than from 135.

2 holes of note. Cut the corner on a downhill par 5 dogleg right to leave myself 215 uphill. Hit my 5-wood to 10 feet. Missed the eagle but tapped in for birdie. Was playing by myself, but the guy ahead of me was on the next tee box and said, "Great shot!" when I got to the green. I'm glad someone saw it.

Had to wait about 5min on the par 4 16th. First drive I never saw. I thought I hooked it, but wasn't sure. Hit a provisional that was likely OB right. Hit another one that was also likely OB right. That was enough. Headed toward the OB balls and figured I'd end up with an X but managed to find my 1st ball over there. Other 2 were OB. Made bogey on that ball, but maybe I broke a rule. Not sure how a 2nd provisional is supposed to work.

Ended the round with a frustrating 3-putt double. Can't wait to play again Saturday.

well now, there's some progress!

Bugger...

It's our annual 'Masters' Tournament. Course was in terrible condition, I'm not sure why its in this state considering the weather we have had. Greens are terrible.

Good start. Bogey on 4 which was standard as missed the green long. 5th 3 putt, 6th 3 putt.

10th was unlucky. Hit tee shot a little left and it got stuck in a small tree had to take a drop. 12th didn't hit a good shot all through the hole. 14th terrible tee shot, short sided myself with a bunker in front of me, got too cute and went in it. Got it out and 3 putt.

17th Great drive only wedge in leak it right. Hit a good pitch left myself 5 feet missed the putt. 18th same as 17 miss judged the wedge shot good chip to 4 feet and missed the putt.

Come middle of the pack losing by 5. Could of quite easily saved 5 shots (But we all say that)

Really good fun though. One of my playing partners is deaf and was a little worried how to approach this. I mumble a lot and as he relies on lip reading I thought it was going to be hard, But turned out to be ok. Just made sure I was clear.

45-43-88. No birdies, 3 double bogeys. 68.9/121/5900 yards.

Awful. At least it was a nice day and there was the occasional decent shot.

proud to have a range session for two days straight
today the first standing on acutal sod which reveals all the sins of yesterdays astronomical turf mat experience

Played the same course where I shot +19 Par 72(36/36) (49/42) for 91 at (70.3/124 6200 yards) last week.

+19 again, but (47/44) this time. 4 pars. 9 bogeys. 5 doubles. Hit it pretty good off the tee and with my irons, but putted and chipped horrifically. I hit the green on all 4 par 3s and 3-putt them all. Hit 8/18 greens. 7 3-putts total. 1 1-putt. 42 putts.. Was pin high, once in the bunker and once wide of the green in 2 on 2 of the par 5s and made 6 on each. Frustrating round. Back at it tomorrow at a place I've never played.

Which putter are you currently using?

i was guessing a 7w.

Which putter are you currently using?

It is the Indian, not the arrow.

It is the Indian, not the arrow.

While that is very often true, it is also possible that there is a mismatch between your putter and your putting stroke which would make things more difficult than they need to be.

43-42-85. 1 birdie, 3 double bogeys. 67.8/126/5573.

Ball striking was notably better today, if not quite good. Chipping and pitching is a work in progress. Putting was mostly decent but I didn't have a lot of them drop, lots of tap in bogeys. Highlight was the birdie at the last, lowlight was making a double on a 110 yard par 3 and didn't even hit it in the sand.

+20 92 (46/46) on a 69.3/124 6050 Par 72 I'd never played before. 1 Birdie, 5 pars, 6 bogeys, 4 doubles, 1 triple and a quad.
6/14 fairways, 6/16 greens.
38 putts. 3 1-putts. 5 3-putts.

Driver and irons were solid, save for an indecisive 5-wood that found the hazard off the tee and turned into a 3-putt 8.
Wasted a chip in the sand and a few others.

A bit better with the putter, but not much. Cannot make anything inside of 5 feet, and cannot lag putt to within 3 feet. The 1-putts were due to 2 great chips within a foot, and a the birdie was a dart SW from 105 yards to 4 feet.

Played with a guy who has coached and played golf for decades. Fortunately also work with him and will play a lot with him. He gave me a few tips and told me I'll be under 80 once I can figure out the putter, which was both encouraging and frustrating at the same time.

Probably play again after work Tuesday.

Played 7,036 yards course 80.2/153 this week. Absolute beatdown, shot a 105, adjusted 104 (9 on par 5 11th). Differential of 23.9 on this +32 score...

Greens complexes were diabolical, but I managed to avoid any 4-putts. Overall played decent, was just overpowered by the course difficulty. Hit 0 greens all day; had distance control issues with wedges and irons (missed several approach shots long with partial wedges, PW, 7i and 6i).

Had a very good ballstriking day, only mis-hit three full swings. Just didn't have the clubface exactly where I wanted it on most shots.

80.2/153 holy F

The +2 GHIN in our group shot a 76, so the 31 strokes he was giving me for the Nassau was pretty accurate. My handful of up and down pars for net eagle and net birdie came in handy to win 3/3 on the Nassau.

Funny thing is even though I was scoring like garbage, since the long game was halfway decent it was a very enjoyable day. I've had a lot less fun shooting 95 on an easier course where I was laying the sod over the ball.

yeah that's just bonkers
also a nice reference of how tough course conditions might be and the best in the world are still playing under par

curious if you know what he thought about how he played

I've had a lot of people ask me about this & I've seen quite a few threads regarding practice & lowering their handicap, so I thought I'd post this in hopes that it will help someone. Here's the story behind it, and the disclaimer. About 8 years ago, I had a student come to me who was a 36 hdcp - best round 110, ave round 120. His goal was to shoot par that year. I've seen the

My friend who just took back up the game earlier this week, He has always been around a 15 handicap unofficially but my god can he hit a ball. On the Par 5 he must of hit it 330ish. Then on a 420 par 4 he hit it 290. The thing is he is playing a driver that isn't fit for him at all he just bought one 2nd hand and is smashing it,

If he focuses on the short game a bit he could get seriously low.

Funny thing is he doesn't want to join in any of our comps as he thinks he isn't good enough.

My game is trending in a good way.
9 holes tonight +2. 3 bogeys and 1 birdie. 2 bogeys on Par 3s. One was short sided with a horrid lie. Other was a blade off the tee over the back of the green. Last bogey was on a short Par 4 after my tee shot I had no shot.,Other than trying to run it through a bunker and it stayed in the bunker. Hit the ball probably a good 7/10 overall. Birdie on another short Par 3 hit it pin high right and holed a 20 footer.

I have a hard time envisioning what an 80.2 course rating even looks like, especially at 7,000 yards. That's bonkers.

Haha I’m an idiot that’s the ladies rating from those tees. Men is 73.3/145.
