Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
Seems simple enough to me; I haven't touched a drop in 6 weeks, maybe when/if you can pull your head out of your ass you can answer it.
Seriously, glad to hear you're sober!!
When/if you ask a question that doesn't commit an elementary logical fallacy, I'd be thrilled and delighted to answer it to the best of my ability.
Otherwise, troll on my friend!
That's enough exclamation mark abuse for now, thanks.
Who's geezerchess?
When my daughter will go outside i don't know how to deal with it. I will probably buy her a motorpad as soon as she can legally use one (14), but that means 0 alcohol with means living like ascetic monks which i don't expect anyone with 50% of my DNA will want to.
You have a genetic need to drink wine?
So why doesn't he post as lagtight? Banned? How do the mods keep banning people when it's such a joke? Instead, when you're going to permaban someone, why don't you just ask them what they'd like to change their screen name to? Maybe in honor of greeeeeeeer23142142213, you could just add a vowel and a number to their sn when they are really really bad.

Idk if lagtight was perma'd. I think so. There are a million people here who are on alt accounts -- geezerchess (lagtight), dunyain (Kelhus and others), hole in wan (juan valdez), Brian James (joe6pack), Dee-Equalizer (washoe), and many others. In some cases, the earlier accounts have been banned. In others, not banned.
What usually happens is that the moderator changes and the new mod inherits a situation in which someone has been posting under an alt-account for while and the new mod just says whatever.
I get that. It's dumb. It probably encourages the behavior it's trying to stop.

They wouldn't get the same adrenaline rush that they get when they hit the perma button. At least I hope that's all it is.
There was a high court judge in England centuries ago who would often get an erection and ejaculate as he was delivering the death sentence, so if the clerk of the court thought a death sentence likely that day he would bring a spare pair of trousers in for him.

Obviously this kind of thing is more true for some mods than others. For some though I think it's more like Shooting an Elephant.
Yeah totally, just after you finished asking the elephant to stop like fifty ****ing times in a row
As always, the most amusing/ironic part of this discussion is that most of the posters complaining the mods aren't heavy handed enough here are members of spin off forums that are completely dead exactly because the mods are so heavy handed.

Every time a mod quits, it's a real chore to find someone take over. And each time someone agrees to be mod, that person usually regrets it within a few weeks. It must be the adrenaline overload. It's really too much to handle.
What a ****ing joke.
It's a never ending source of both mystery and amusement to me that so many people seemingly participate in various forums primarily to complain about the moderation.
