I use AppleMusic, not Spotify, so I'm not sure if they use a heart icon to save/fave a song or not

Heart is a band tho

I'm thinking this is 'giant streaming music platform' versus Spotify specifically, but maybe not; mostly bc I don't know the specifics of them; for all I know they are from Egypt, France, Germany, or Rome, but I don't know that so not touching location words

beat - music word
cell - cell phone; could be reason for streaming service if no better internet words
engine - recommendation engine powering spotify
fan - fans of artists add them to their Spotify?
giant - giant company, giant in the streaming music space
heart - the band; maybe for liking/saving a song?
mint - seems like a mint green logo? stretch and not sure so nah
swing - a style of music

Cell or engine seem to be the only reason for Spotify over just music/band word and engine would be Cars (the band) or Cake (going the distance), or something else?

So I think I like cell best, as that phone connection is strong for Spotify

Cell seems risky to me. I get what you’re saying about it being a streaming platform, but you can stream and use apps on more than just a cell phone. Most people probably stream Spotify from their computers or Alexa. But I do understand the whole internet connection thing being a potential reason for the clue’s specificity over a generic band-related word. It’s also possible that the outdatedness of “cell phone” is biasing me. Only olds call it that anymore.

I’m more in the camp of beat + giant being at the top. I guess I’m fine with cell being third because we’d be much more likely to get a band clue if fan/heart were ours.

I get that cell is more old school, but I'm more looking at it from his perspective where he has to link cell and 2 other words that have to do with music then thinking of streaming service seems likely, but maybe not

I wish I knew if they used hearts (and of course Heart is a band), but I think I like heart more than you and I'm not huge on giant; any major company could fall under 'giant'...I guess spotify is the most used streaming service but if he did Amazon or Apple or whatever we'd also say giant

I'm trying to figure out why specifically Hades. Wouldn't "hell" or "inferno" also probably lead to the 3 we guessed?

Rome and Egypt seem specifically out because he went Greek. I think Heart is out too, since Undertaker was good.

Would be really nice if we can get another one here. Cluing for 2 left is a lot easier than 3 (especially if any of ours are among the numerous kitchen/food words that are left up there).

I think we can't completely ignore the possibility that he made a mistake in cluing strategy, and that heart is ours. I don't think we should guess it here or leave it on the list, but we should keep it in mind for next round

I think we should guess something. If you think that you can "wear a knife", I guess I'm okay with it.
