Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

Of late, I'm getting way more tier score for my blackjack play than I was previously. I was getting like 200 for several hours of play last year. Getting 800 to 1000 the last month or so.

If I play the minstakes, I lose about a thousand bucks every half hour.

Yes, it's always possible to get Diamond in a Day. Earn 5k tier, which gets you a 10k daily bonus and you have it.

not worth chasing for that. they also pulled this benefit from a lot of people.

The value of the benefit is in the eye of the beholder. If you are a fannypacker who just liked the thrill of hitting the casino for free waters maybe not but if you live in Vegas and out often it’s quite nice. Especially since it resets at midnight.

Free drinks for dinner and then afterwards after reset. Almost $200 perk that can do many times.

it's not "almost a 200 dollar perk" unless you'd actually be spending 200 dollars on 8 drinks which people trying to game the system absolutely would not be doing.

I liked having the perk when I had it (I actually think I may have gotten it back with some recent play) but I wouldn't chase it because they pulled it from so many people. Before they did that I'd say it could make sense to chase it.

Without them I've just played video poker and I'll lose 5-10 bucks in ev while having a few drinks.

When I still had them there were maybe 4-5 times where I used one or two for a random about to get ripped off on drinks when I wouldn't use all 4 that day. But after literally none of these people tipped the bartender I stopped doing that.

It’s absolutely close to a couple hundred dollar perk per “session”. Many drinks are over $20 and limit with freebie is up to $25

I’m not sure what you are saying about gaming system but I’d be doing that stuff normally. Having drinks at dinner, and then afterwards the Calvary is refreshed at midnight

So again, value is eye in beholder. I don’t personally know anyone who had their perk stripped so can’t comment on that end

If you'd spend 200 dollars anyway on drinks then I agree it's worth 200 overlapping midnight for you. But you're in the extreme minority of anyone in Vegas regularly.

And that poster definitely didn't sound like he values it that highly.

It’s quite nice (and in my case mandatory) to enjoy drinks with a nice meal so it’s worth 100 easy just for that several times a year.

Also fabulous to get free drinks by the pool

I don’t get why he was asking, this is a ymmv situation and only he can weigh the rewards vs effort/cost.

I didn't realize you could get free drinks at the pool with this perk. Is that actually true? I don't see the pools on this list of free drink locations.

I've heard you can get free drinks from pool but never tried. Makes sense to me.

He was asking bc he wanted people's opinions on whether or not it was worth chasing.

In other words how much people think it's really worth. Maybe he didn't know you could use it at restaurants. Maybe he didn't know you could drink at bars for free with token video poker play. Maybe he didn't know lots of people had the perk pulled in the last year or so.

I liked having it but don't think it's worth chasing it unless you're super close to 25k TC.

Certain pools like Linq, Flamingo, and Harrahs. Have to check if pool bar is on the list. Linq is best on days it doesn’t have a party

Caesars Rewards has been berry berry good to me

Just send all inquiries my way, I’ll let them know what’s up

This.

Playing video poker for a few seconds gets you free drinks, the free drinks were at best a small benefit.

In fact, when I was getting the free drinks, I still tipped rather decently (maybe $5 for a free beer). If you go to thr same bars and the bartenders recognize you, you don't even have to play that much video poker to get the free drinks. Since I have my regular bartenders, I put $20 on a video poker machine, play one hand, get my free drinks, tip the same $5, and cash out.

What is the -EV cost of one hand of VP? Pennies. That is the benefit for Diamond plus.

There’s no video poker in nice restaurants and at pool. That’s the value of DP

Ah ok, I guess I never realized this because I never go to those properties.
I'll be staying at Planet Hollywood and Caesars for a few days next month. It would be great to use it at the pools there, but sounds like this won't work.

It's amazing what 5 dollar tips can do at the bar. I'll get monster pours of hard liquor drinks in giant plastic cups from a lot of bartenders.

Anyone who tips less than $5 on free cocktails where bartender has much control in timeliness and abundance of pours in future drinks can’t possibly be running with an IQ north of 80.

You'd be surprised. One time I got a red bull vodka and tipped 5 bucks . The bartender gave me vodka in a huge cup and the can of red bull.

Another guy decided he wanted the same thing and asked for it. He was told they can't comp the red bull .He had tipped a dollar on his prior drink. He said what about him ,pointing at me.

The bartender said he made a mistake.

So this guy gets vodka club soda in a piddling tiny cup and tips a dollar.

A little while later I get a refill of both the giant cup of vodka and another can of red bull.

This same guy starts to say something to the bartender about it but before he can finish the bartender "woops, another mistake".

So the bartender is a thief ripping off his employer and should be fired.

And the other guy is a snitch and needs to get stitches

Sounds like a Caesars problem to me, not my concern.

Nice. No I’m actually not surprised. I just auto do the five, would probably do it anyway but this karma comes back to you instantly.

They can be very liberal with drink pours and comps on certain liquors. Any bartender will usually get 5% comps to sales. So if someone tips well they will heavy pour on that person. A bar tender will on average ring 1k-2k a night if they are good - so they can give away $50 - $100 worth of liquor - and you can always over pour the cheap stuff. Just make sure you aren't over pouring any bottle that costs a lot - high end whiskey and scotch. But any vodka drink they can pretty much pour as much as they want.

The employer wants volume - he doesn't really care much about the pour count in a high volume place like vegas because the bottles are dirt cheap.

You can get a bottle of grey goose for under $8 in some of these high volume places since they order so much of it - and will get rebates if they put grey goose in a flyer or promo advertisement.

I've worked in bars for 10 years when I was younger and my boss was always cool if we poured heavy on rail drinks. 1 drink pretty much pays for the whole bottle anyways, and as long as people keep coming back - you will get fat volume every night. No one likes a stingy bar tender and I won't even order another drink if I feel ripped off. I'll just go to a bar that takes care of me. You will easily find one if you know what you're doing.

I've also received my TCs from playing at Danville. I didnt realize how close I would be to Diamond Plus, so I guess I'll try for that. There's a 5x TC promo next week 4/14 - 4/20. I guess I'll play again to get the 500 TCs i need for Plus.

What game were you playing?

I think video poker was taken out of the 5x TC promo.

I don't even know where Danville is but video definitely counted in Caesars and AC.
