Rice is probably THE most delusional person i have ever seen in the poker community, or in life as well. Absolutely on another planet, crazy stuff.

He is a financial and health expert to happens to vlog while homeless!

I still don’t understand where they got the money (unless they got it from her mother) because they were clearly both struggling financially before.

This whole situation shows why she isn’t out of his league at all. She might have started her YouTube channel thinking it was going to blow up and when it didn’t, she transitioned to the candy business instead.

If they didnt have the money (Lady T that is Trooper is broke obviously), they might have been so desperate to make this candy empire succeed that they went "balls to the wall" on the credit cards.

With the decisionmaking these two is showing, it woudnt surprise me one bit.

He already tried to get another dealing gig in addition to his current one at The Orleans. He didn't follow the pre employment rubric and therefore was not hired. He's still trying to figure out how the Internet works.

He might be the only person under 75 still using magazines and newspapers. I mean he even started a "newsletter". Amazing.

I have been looking at places on CL and AIRBNB that go for $700/month. They look fine. At least a few were near Red Rock or in Spring Valley.

When I lived in Vegas I paid $625 a month foe a room with two other roommates. There was a lot of dog hair (not mine) but other than that it was fine.

I'll be staying at least to months this time. Maybe six before hitting Florida, Arizona, or California.

I lived in an airbnb for $950/mo with my own bathroom going month to month. Decent neighborhood on the edge of Chinatown. Not really near anything worth mentioning but of course that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your viewpoint. That works out to about $30 a day. But I guess Diesel would rather move around from place to place every week like a hobo. If you know you're gonna be in a place for at least a month, moving around to save $5 is absolutely a waste of time.

Having to move around so much is the worst part. Imagine being a “professional” poker player and having to be awake for a couple hours a few times a week around 11 am cause you have to check out and check in.

Then instead of going to sleep after checking in to your new place and waking up at prime time poker playing around 9 pm, you decide to keep a normal working person’s schedule and go play poker at the worst time you can during day shift.

Then Diesel scoffs at people saying they make the magical 10 bb/hr calling them all liars. Maybe he doesn’t know any cause he doesn’t play when they do play, on graveyard. Did he poll the whole player pool in Vegas about their win rates?

I mean it's possible (but unlikely) he legit got screwed but even if one landlord screwed him out of a few hundred dollars that's an absurd reason to go through the rest of your life homeless.

IIRC, Rice stayed in the same Airbnb place for several weeks last year while dealing.

$0-$29 free or low cost rooms with resort free waived low end CET (Harrahs & Linq) and MGM (Excalibur & Luxor) rooms gave him the Strip access he preferred and ability to pay in poker comp dollars. Moving forward, with no Diamond and less poker and less Vegas time, more Airbnb is likely where he will be staying when he is not living in his childhood room over the Christmas holidays.

I do see the benefit, at least short term, if he traveled from place to place to deal say WSOP, or to enjoy certain areas say to spend time in national or state parks while weather is good like RV nomads, but he seems to travel not for enjoyment, but primarily as a way to get to and from his parent’s house each year, avoid expensive rooms on heavy Vegas demand days/weeks, and to gain out of state content including “records” such as number of states to sit in an orbit or two of poker in one day.

As someone who really enjoyed traveling a lot younger, and still to some extent now retired (mid 50s, usually 4-6 out of state trips for several weeks each year), the thought of poker dealing on a circuit, and WSOP, in between weeks of Raving or camping throughout the US with great weather would be attractive. I personally wouldn’t do the Airbnb thing, and go hotel, legit RV or just camping in good weather (not homeless survival in a car), but to me even living traveling, after a few months, I’d want more permanent stays and less bouncing around for longer periods.

If one was smart, they should be living 'The Van Life' and vlogging about it.

Sure if he was a traveling poker dealer the expense of an apartment might be foolish. But he's a traveling bum using an absurd excuse to "never rent again".

ELD can get a storage unit with climate control maybe a 5 by 10 and put a mat and blanket to sleep during the day and then play poker at night for more profits.

He must have a boatload of student debt considering all his years of schooling and his disgust towards going thru that cycle. Ivy League isn’t cheap whatsoever. Not to mention he’s barely worked in his adult life and has never made close to average wages in a single year. Throw in his below minimum wage lifetime poker hourly and easy to understand why he has zero assets of any significance while dressing worse than a teenager stuck at Goodwill.

Hard to tell how much of his life expenses and schooling are covered by his parents. He certainly never mentions any basic costs for his auto or health insurance, shitbox car maintenance (only gas), etc.

There is nobody making a living playing 1/2. Period.

He could just do the WSOP Circuit and make a decent living and not be tied down to one place. He doesnt seem to mind dealing and even seems to enjoy it. He could even pick and choose which stops he does so he could have extended time off. Not sure why he doesnt go this route but to each their own. He'd be playing 2/5 in no time. Although I really doubt he wants to move up in stakes. It seems for him, poker is more of a socializing event. He's not a serious poker player.

I think ELD reported he only went to law school since he got a scholarship and not that he liked the study of law and probably got a scholarship at Cornell and then lived at home for the Summers back to Long Island.

People here speculated that his parents pay for phone and car insurance as he never included those in his expense videos.

He probably gets a few hundred from SNAP pre month for food and I would not be surprised if he's on Medicaid. His income appears to be low enough for both.
