Though Trump was a failure in most businesses he was in .

But he has huge grudge against Particularly Las Vegas and Casino industry because of his failure in the industry where even an idiot makes money.

And he was denied Casino Operator License because of his many shady bankruptcies.

Maybe so, but that's not the impression Pokernews.com just made with their article. Foreign visitors will read that and not the fine print that is in those law statutes. Trump also loves to make enemies and he is doing a fine job of that.

I don't believe that is a factual statement. I freely will retract my statement if you can show any public documentation that he was denied a license.

"The Nevada Gaming Commission did not find Trump ‘trustworthy’ enough for a gaming license," it says. "Donald Trump — too shifty for Las Vegas."

The post, published on June 20, was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)
We reached out to the Nevada Gaming Commission for more information. Tony Alamo, the commission’s chairman, called the post’s claims "a viral misconception on the internet."

"President Trump has, in fact, been found suitable to be involved in gaming in Nevada," Alamo said.

No it isn't the impression you would get from that article. I'm just giving you the facts.
As with almost everything related to President Trump Pro or Con most sources skew the information to suit their purpose.

There might be something unique in the Executive order but I certainly am not aware of what it is.

I had looked up the law when it was discussed in another thread by a foreign player complaining about the 30 day sign up is the only reason I am familiar with it.

I’m pretty sure that 99% of the news one watches/reads about politics is flat out deceitful or at least skewed, and 100% of the people who consume this news could not care less.

Online registration now uses WSOP+ app.

www.wsop.com/registration

How To Register Online
Online registrations can be initiated by completing the registration process by downloading the WSOP+ application

or by downloading the application directly from the Apple (IOS Devices) or Google (Android Devices) Store. To begin online registration, Participant must have an active and valid Caesars Rewards account and a WSOP+ account. Registration for both accounts is required to participate in any WSOP Event. Registration for both accounts is free. Terms of Service for WSOP+ can be found here.

We encourage as many players as possible to utilize the online registration process to sign up for events. This will reserve your seat to an event and allow you to register and pay for WSOP events online. WSOP+ is used to manage online registrations. To register online, players will be required to visit WSOP verification located in the Champagne Ballroom to verify their account. Once verified players can simply pick event(s) online via WSOP+, Participant may access their ticket in the WSOP+ application, or have their ticket printed at the Verification Desk or WSOP Main Cage and then go directly to their table. Our goal is to continue growing online registration each year and greatly ease in-person registration congestion. For those who register and send payment online, you will reduce time spent at the Casino waiting in line.

Pig4bill says he can't use a smartphone as he states.

I'm sure they'll have people on site that can register for wsop+ but it sure probably won't be convenient.

It does say you can still have a ticket printed out but who knows how that process will work out.

Looks like WSOP+ app going the misleading prizepool information though.

Sounds very annoying for a foreigner who likely will only play 1 proper WSOP-event (I assume the Daily Deepstacks will still have their own registration and that you can still buy-in with cash there).

Basically it sounds like I need to:

- Register online.
- Download the app.
- Do a physical confirmation before I can use the app.
- Once approved, fund the app.
- I don't have PayPal or LuxonPay, so only option is Credit Card (3% fee).
- And before I can even use the Credit Card I need to stand in another line for them to approve it before I can deposit with it.

Extremely cumbersome, and although I understand that this will really only be an issue the first time around (and should be a very seamless process for potential future WSOPs) it still feels like a lot of steps for just one event (for me).

The usual issues with phone-based tickets will cause some minor headaches, namely people who forgot their phone, or their battery is dead, or they can't get a connection for some reason, or they're just technologically challenged and have issues getting to their ticket. I'm assuming that dealers will have to visually verify seat tickets on phones since we're no longer giving them a paper ticket to collect. I can certainly see a late-arriving player fumbling with their phone to open the ticket after they arrive at the table while the dealer and the rest of the players wait for them.

What's not clear to me is whether you'll need to show the app to cashiers at the cage for in-person registration. I would assume that you'll still just need to provide your Caesars card and ID, and they'll be able to tell in their system whether you have a WSOP+ account or not. I certainly hope you won't have to get your phone out and show it to cashiers. I imagine (hope) they'll have signs and/or people at the end of the registration line warning people that they need a WSOP+ account and app, because I'm sure there will be people showing up to register with cash and assuming it's the same process as it's been the last several years.

I mostly worry about glitches with a new system. I know it was used in the Bahamas, but it's new for Vegas, and the linkage to Caesars accounts will be new. Imagine you register and see your seat assignment in your app, but when you get up the next morning and open it, you can't find it anywhere. That's a bad enough scenario, but now imagine it's not just you and it happens to several hundred players. Could be quite the mess. I'll probably play it safe this first year and get a printout the night before.

Hopefully the system is flawless and we don't see anything but a few minor issues with people having difficulty with their phones. With event ticketing having gone paperless everywhere for several years now, it really shouldn't be that big a deal anymore.

I don't think this is right. You need an app account to register for an event, but it doesn't look like you need to register for events through the app. I think you can sign up for an app account, then go to the registration desk, where they will confirm that you have an app account (just like they confirm that you have a Caesars Rewards card), and then pay in cash or any of the other methods listed on the WSOP registration page under "Accepted Payment Methods for WSOP Buy-ins (In-Person)." You wouldn't need to do the separate physical verification this way, as that is only needed if you are using the app to register for a tournament.

From the app FAQ

Q. Am I required to sign up to participate in WSOP?
A. Participant must have an active WSOP+ account to register for any WSOP Event.

Q. What if I don’t have a smartphone?
A. On-site staff can assist you with creating your WSOP+ account. You will need a verifiable email address. Physical tickets can be printed out for tournament registrations.

Nah. Download and install the app on your phone.

No physical confirmation required to use the app. You will need a Caesars Rewards card; they will ask for that.

Seems like my pay option is PayPal; credit card option is greyed out. Can anyone chime in on this use of PayPay to fund a registration to the WSOP?

I am an old geezer.
I have an iPhone and an email address.
That's pretty much a basic requirement in this day and age.
I did hold off as long as I could to get that iPhone. I quickly realized that I couldn't do without it.

That is interesting since my PayPal account is directly connected to my credit card. I hope that it will work this way

I have heard nothing but extremely positive comments about the usage of the WSOP+ account in the Bahamas (myself included), so I would not sweat its usage this summer folks!

...] In other news, turns out the Industry Employee Event is an open event

I've completed 2 of 3 verification steps on the WSOP+ App.

It was very easy to create/log in to an account after download from the app store.

Looks like the first thing I'll be doing is visiting staff on-site to complete my verification:

I read that registering with cash is an option; you'll just have to show your app credentials to the cage staff.

Well, it's not off to a great start for me. I'd had the app installed from when it was first introduced, but hadn't opened it in a long while. I had to update the app first and restart it, no issue there. My first login attempt using Google login produced a generic error message. Second attempt worked, have no idea why it failed the first time. I'm not sure why it then wanted me to create a nickname and choose an avatar, I can only assume that maybe there's online poker there for people who live places where it isn't illegal. I noticed the Verification status in the upper-right showing 1 of 3 steps completed, clicked through to enter my Caesars rewards number and last name to find that the Continue button below these fields remained greyed-out and disabled. I tried clearing the field and re-entering the info, exiting out and coming back into the form, nothing worked until I once again quit and restarted the app. Tried again and this time it worked.

So...not sure can give the app a great big thumbs up just yet, as the two simple tasks I've attempted so far both failed the first time and then worked the second. I mean, better than them not working at all, but it doesn't exactly inspire confidence, does it?
