I signed up for the WSOP+ app and verified but only see 2024 WSOP paradise in Atlantis or whatever.

Think wait until May 5th. I emailed them and that seemed to be a date stuff will update

It's annoying that they push you in the direction of being forced to use certain options, and there always seems to be associated fees.

Wire transfers, online registration, using a card to register, crypto... It doesn't seem to matter what you do there's almost no way to avoid some sort of fee short of standing in a massive line and paying cash.

I had been planning on just depositing a chunk of cash in person at the start of the series (to avoid fees), then I would tolerate a $3 convenience fee to skip the line and use the kiosks. I'll be irritated if they do away with the kiosks and have a higher fee to register with the app.

Gosh, it's like Kenny Hallaert's comprehensive spreadshe... except with less information.

I understand the frustration about the fees ITT but that is nothing compared to what you’re going to pay for a coffee or a sandwich or a slice of awful pizza.

The coffee is free. Just remember to tip the cocktail waitress.

It's Vegas. I get it. I have no issue with slipping the maitre d a twenty for a better table in the restaurant or whatever.

It's the nickel and diming, tricky "gotcha" fees and obstacles they put up to you giving them your money that drives me crazy.

Like I can understand charging for parking when there's a raiders game or something. But I have a hard time believing the $20 they charge for parking on a random Tuesday makes them more than they lose when the occasional whale says, "They want to charge me for parking? Let's just gamble next door instead."

Whatever happened to, "Yes sir we would love your action. We have a range of complimentary options to transfer money, and while you're waiting enjoy this complimentary top shelf beverage on the house."

You get free parking at almost any casino on the strip just from having the second tier of the rewards system, which is typically pretty easy to get from any reasonable amount of action. And at least at Caesars and MGM, you automatically get this from having their free credit card. But players who just come to town for a few poker tournaments aren’t really the type of player they are looking to give a bunch of comps to.

MGM matches to gold or plat from like every single status program in the country for 90 days right now (you can do this every year) which gets you free parking at aria/bellagio

bellagio lot to horseshoe front door is a 5-7 min walk if you don't have caesars platinum (v easy to get on 5-10x days) and actually better on super busy days

I don't mind paying a couple of bucks "convenience" fee to reg thru an app, I refuse to stand in line for hours to save 3 bucks.. I will reg the night before to avoid the line if need be but re-entry no way I'm waiting. I used to be diamond until this year so no shortcut unless I flash my old card..

Gonna fire at least one of the Venetian deep stacks this June. Haven’t been able to find non-cash payment options for the buyins. Anyone know/have a link to what they will accept for payment?

  • No phones/electronic devices allowed during the final stages of the tournament

  • WSOP+ app has been officially announced

  • Spectators are also prohibited from using charts, apps, artificial intelligence, or any other form of electronic assistance that could provide a competitive advantage.

Don’t like this rule.

I was distracted by a friend who was texting me when I was on the FT bubble 2 years ago and I open jammed the SB thinking it had folded to me, only to be told, as I was reaching for the pot, that the UTG player was all in. Fortunately we sucked out with Q8o but if that rule was in place I would have missed that spot.

Does Rule 16 imply if you register early online, you won't be blinded out up until the first break (at which point you will be refunded)?

Previously, if you registered early, your stack was always put in play immediately IIRC.

And? No electronics when the big jumps are in effect is a no brainer. Game integrity is way more important than the fact you got distracted and played a hand poorly bc you weren't paying attention.

Understand why but no music with 3 tables is pretty tilting. Been final 2/3 tables at wsop twice and definitely wouldn't have been there without music keeping me calm/sane in high value spots.

Used to be no headphones at all in the $ at wsop though I do remember that

This cancellation thing is going to cause problems with anglers.

Also, the rule about random seating is questionable. Does that apply to the featured tables? They always have at least one well-known player so it definitely hasn’t always been completely random.

The feature tables, usually 2 or sometimes 3 during the Main, are manually selected among the tables that are running and then moved to the feature area. So, yea they make the best selections from what they have to work with.

Hopefully you get your seat added online and don't need to stand in late reg line anymore?

May need to bring some books to read for when I make final 3 tables.

The seats are randomly assigned. Then WSOP picks a table that has X star on it.

They don't randomly select the feature table. They select a randomly selected set of players to become the feature table.

Yes, they move an entire, already constructed, table on the floor to be the feature tv table. The choice of which table to move is obviously predicated on what β€œstars” are at the table.

On the other hand, when a seat opens at a tv table, I’ve noticed a high likelihood of it being filled by a β€œstar” from a broken table, I think the floormen must have good bottom dealing skills on the seat cards when passing them out at the broken table lol.
