But they arent the same people. Bin Laden was Al Qaeda. The same guys now in charge in Syria. The same guys the US armed to fight the Houthis. The same guys stealing aid in Gaza right now. Israel is allied with them. You are literally on the same side as Al Qaeda and ISIS.

But under Obama and Biden the Dem Party tried to hand the region to the IRGC and their Shiite proxies to be the dominant local power; but they just just did a very poor job, made everything worse and got drawn into a war with Israel where they got curb stomped. So now the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood Axis (Turkey, Qatar and allies including groups that were once part of Al Qaeda) are getting their shot to be the local stabilizing power.
This is the Middle East we are talking about. There are no good options. You have to just pick your poison what flavor of backwards, theocratic extremists is least bad.

People didn't have everything they needed, no. Israel kept the water and power off for most of the day and kept food supplies to carefully-judged sub-starvation levels and allowed next to no freedom of movement except through the wire-cage tunnel, with long waits at the checkpoint, for those with Israeli work permits.
Maybe it's not so good of an idea to mess with the Israelis.

Quite early on they tweeted videos of themselves gleefully blowing up apartment blocks just because they felt like it, and they've now destroyed most of the enclave's residential accommodation. They've also given many open indications that their intent is to remove the population one way or another.

That is generally what you do in war zones. You remove civilians. This is literally the first war (possibly ever) where the agreed upon narrative is that removing civilians from the war zone is a bad thing.
And instead of removing civilians from the war zone, we have decided it is completely incumbent on the attacking force to care for the well being of the enemy civilian population, while the defending force does their best to get their own civilians killed for PR purposes.

They blew up apartment blocks because Hamas likes to hang out in apartments. They gave ample warning to people to leave the area to minimize civilian casualties, which is the exact opposite of what Hamas does, hide among civilians.
The most recent example of a “journalist” (not sure there is any evidence he was one as I could not find articles he had written, but it could be written in Arabic) being killed, he was in North Gaza which has many no-go zones. People are given warnings that there are fire fights in that area. You may think that’s unfair, but let’s not pretend that every time Israel attacks civilian infrastructure they were unjustified. Certainly there have been horrible war crimes perpetrated by IDF soldiers and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent, but that happens in every war. There was mass rape and looting in Germany during the campaign to retake it from the Nazis. Does that mean we shouldn’t support that war because war crimes occurred?
Any international law you can cite about civilian infrastructure will include provisions about when it is appropriate to attack it, and that’s when it becomes a credible military target.
