What proof of being in the casino industry do I need to bring when I register the casino industry event? I assume my badge and a paystub should be sufficient?

If you have a pulse you're in!

Did we ever confirm that credit cards used on wsop+ won't have a fee and won't be a cash advance?

No euros then nice!

Damn that new WSOP schedule on wsop.com is a pile of chit. I know what games are included in Dealers Choice but I don’t think you can now find that information on the new website

Waiting for you or NickMPK to try

I will try and let you know.

Signed up for a new card just in case

Good luck!

For those talking about the fees and service charges, what did that end up being on the app?

I was hoping to play my first Main ever this summer as a tribute to my dad, but I can't fit it around my baseball schedule very well. Plus, I want to get some practice (yeah, you heard that right) as I haven't played serious live poker since pre-COVID.

Confirmed today by Ty Stewart in his AMA: https://www.reddit.com/r/poker/comments/...

I don't think that answer is 100% clear.
WSOP themselves may not charge a fee, but your credit card might, or may treat it as an advance and charge you.

Maybe a sign of what is coming to WSOP this year.

^ I would love that but I really doubt it unfortunately. I think numbers will be 15-20% lower. Hope I'm wrong!

I'm pumped and ready for the WSOP! Catching a flight at the end of the week!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the tables! My first event will be the mystery millions...

Who's destined to pull that million dollar bounty?!!

.... I think numbers {for WSOP} will be 15-20% lower. Hope I'm wrong!

If true I feel the reasons could be:

Sluggish Stock Market

Wealthy Baby boomer players getting older and dying off

Less foreigners coming to Vegas over the past year.

More plane accidents lately could spook some.

People worried about the economy because of tariffs.

Less star players then there used to be to attract amateurs and create buzz.

More people believing you need to understand advanced strategies like solvers to have a chance.

A decrease in the numbers is inevitable given not much happening lately on national legalization.

No decent poker TV shows or poker movies that might grow the game.

Can anyone think of any other reasons?

Pretty much every year some folks think the numbers will drop and pretty much every year they are proven wrong. Fear mongering does and will scare people off as well as paranoia of world views. I see the glass half full for the following reasons contrasting each of your listed examples. Just my opinion, but this is my view of things.

The stock market is like 3,400 under the all time record right now. Here is a 10 year graph to show how it has been doing.

. Looks like an upward trend to me.

Poker continues to grow, numbers going up, baby boomers may be dying but new folks coming in.

If less foreigners come that doesn't much matter if the numbers still go up. The majority of players are from USA so I don't see that changing much.

Plane accidents, are you kidding? Safest way to travel, period!

Tariffs are working as they are supposed to, small increases in the price of things for long term gain makes sense.

If there is less star players ( I disagree) wouldn't that make fields easier and enhance chances of amateurs doing better in tourneys?

Studying poker is always good, but it's not a prerequisite for doing well in a tourney.

With online poker not legal in many other states, wouldn't that make it more attractive to travel so you can play some poker?

Plenty of poker on TV now, certainly more than 10 years ago! Tons of streaming as well, Poker Go etc...

Yes, I can think of other reasons, how about stay home because you will get covid if you come!q
Fill up that glass and let's play some poker at WSOP 2025. LFG!!

Good luck in the wsop man. Give me updates when you can if you want to. You are a solid human being I am rooting for you brother.

Obviously there is too much orange kool-aid in your diet. SMH

Yeah, but it will probably be an important factor if numbers go down. 114 countries participated in the 2024 WSOP and here is where the final table players came from:

United States: Jordan Griff, Brian Kim, Joe Serock, Jonathan Tamayo
Sweden: Niklas Astedt
Bulgaria: Boris Angelov
Canada: Jason Sagle
Spain: Andres Gonzalez
France: Malo Latinois

You can get the structure sheets here: https://content.pokernews.com/2025-wsop-...

In another website update they have now hidden all results on player profile pages behind a + button per event, making the site essentially unusable for this purpose.

Wow, have to say i didn't expect that - Now the Orleans is more local centric in their customer base in my opinion but that is still a pleasant surprise if it holds. I wonder if they started with more tables this year than in the past ?

Half of these reasons aren't even changes from last year.

How many wsop players do you really think died since last year? And whatever number you come up with hows that any different from any other year?

Thanks much appreciated

But the more casual fan has no clue where to go to get more information. If numbers are down I think this bad new website has more to do with it than people afraid that their plane will crash lol

The tournament structures are on the main WSOP website now, on the right side.

I don’t see them, but I’m on my phone not a desktop if that matters

From desktop.

On my phone browser, it's at the bottom.
