This is the start of the series. Verification lines will go down by next week

by housenuts m

Really they should. But they don't of course.

The online verification line isn't too bad. Guessing will be about 45 minutes. Cash line looks absurd.

Should they sell you food? Water? Tshirts? Deal blackjack?

It's a hotel check in. They go slow enough with people asking stupid questions. People waiting to check in absolutely should not be waiting for poker players to get some app verified.

People checking in at the desk are ******ed tho. There's kiosks.

Can't seem to see update area on WSOP.com

Maybe it's too soon - but usually you can at least see it exists....

They are not forcing everyone to download their app to get updates?

As I like to look on my computer - if anyone 'interesting' is going deep in any of the running tournies...

I hope I'm just missing it, or it's too early for that tab to be on the wsop.com website

Pokernews has some updates.

Huh? There are no kiosks this year. Those were from Bravo last year.

For hotel check-in

Ok I'm here to help the people.
Registration/verification is open 23/7.
Its only closed from 5am to 6am.
There is zero lineup right now. Late night is your friend.

Can confirm.
Did it 2am last night, very easy and smooth.

So are we not able to see live updates/chip counts of events on the WSOP website anymore?

Pokernews has updates and chip counts.

Pokernews Updates was always more accurate anyways imo

There’s something off about the WSOP this year. The energy feels low, the spectacle more mundane, and even the sound of chips riffling seems muted compared to years past. Overall, people just don’t seem to look like they’re enjoying it as much as before. It’s odd.

If chip shuffling was banned, every poker room in the world would be a better place. Too bad about the overall energy level, but glad to hear the chip shuffling is muted too!

I actually disagree! Everyone has been really buying into the new app and the new system, players have been courteous and patient with the dealers. Vibe's been pretty good imo!

I didn’t say anything about courtesy or patience.

People aren’t mad or anything, it’s just not electric like it usually feels. There’s no buzz.

LOL at the WSOP being electric.

If by electric you mean a bunch of overweight, neck beards in shorts ...then yeah.

When I went to the WSOP at the Rio in 2005 now that was electric. There was a huge Gaming Pavilion next to the main playing area. It had girls in bikinis at one booth, tables that sold things like bobblehead figurines of famous players, Poker magazines giving away things like like free t-shirts. I got a cool one from
Bluff magazine that I still have 20 years later. Then along came Black Friday and Adelson which killed the golden goose.

Beards and fat conduct electricity so obviously what I meant.

They were the exact same updates mirrored on both sites

If I am paying cash and I just want to enter a Tournament do I have to register anywhere or can I just use my Caesar card?

You need the wsop app, and it has to be verified, otherwise you can not enter any tourney (cash or else doesn’t matter)

Unless I missed something, I believe you can still register for tournaments the old fashioned way by taking cash and your ID/Caesars Card to the cage.

You need the app. It gives you your seat assignment and new table when your table moves.

You need the app for the reasons mentioned.

But the additional reason is GG needs to sell data as much as possible to recoup the $500, 000, 000.
