It is actually amusing. Hamas literally admits on Arab social media they are stealing aid, using access to control Palestinians and reselling it on the black market, and torturing and murdering Palestinians that interfere with this operation. They can admit this because the Arab world actually doesn't give a single **** about Palestinians, but they do approve of Hamas acting as a gang to keep control of Gaza at all costs.
And Hamas understands the Western media will completely cover for them with Western audiences, who also dont actually care about Palestinians; so there is literally no downside at all for their advertising their criminal activity.

now I do think that we need to consider prior probabilities in that discussion. if we look at it through that lens, we can expect that the average american is going to have a favorable opinion of Israel due to them being an ally, and the average american is going to have a negative opinion of russia due to them being an adversary.
in that case it is far more notable when someone is a supporter of russia than when someone is a supporter of israel. admittedly those numbers are getting closer than in the past, but that actually makes your point even worse about the two people that supported israel in the bush administration, since all that was long before oct 7th even happened which generally shifted public opinion on israel
