He always strikes me as a guy who tries to walk a fine line between nice (constantly interacting with fans) and arrogant (his PLO comments). He also seems incredibly not self-aware of how his comments come off to the less rich, such as complaining that his walk-in wine room doesn't have an adequate selection. Talk about first-world problems.
To your point, him expecting a bunch of recs at a $5k buy in PLO tourny firing multiple bullets is just LOL not in touch with reality. I guess if you live in a country club community bubble, you don't have any clue how the other 95% are living?

I've booked multiple airbnb's in Vegas from lengths ranging from a few days to multiple months and have never had a single issue.

When I worked the WSOP a couple years ago they were giving out special room rates at the Rio it worked out to be like $1600/mo or something close to that. Obviously he can't stay at the Rio any longer, but I'm pretty sure he could have gotten a better deal than what he did if he had talked to a few people.....
Unpopular opinion: Rice seems like a genuinely nice, if rather boring guy. He's very set in his ways, but seems to be making progress as far a growing up and facing reality. I predict that after the Series he'll become a roommate of another dealer or possibly player. Lots of folks in the Vegas poker community rent out an extra bedroom long-term, and he won't have to sign a lease (since he's sworn he would never do that again) or deal with a bunch of randos. After that he'll find a girlfriend. Plenty of guys with big stomachs, strong calves and an obsession with sports statistics are able to attract women. Heck, women write to and fall in love with prisoners on the regular. Fwiw, I don't think Rice is on the spectrum, but if he is, he's very high-functioning. The most interesting thing about him up to now has been his choice to be more or less homeless despite his vast amount of education. He was never truly homeless though since he's always had his family's home to fall back on. In any case, I enjoy the desultory aspect of his videos and his meandering monologues (except for the mean comments ones, which are unwatchable).
Trooper on the other hand - back in the early days I found his schtick entertaining and admired a lot of his filming and editing techniques. He's re-branded himself as a grumpy old man essentially, after the candy stretch where he at least seemed to enjoy the farmer's markets before it got too hot. His videos are no longer enjoyable. I get that continuous responses to negative comments attracts more comments/more engagement/more revenue but to the average viewer like me, that gets old fast. Plus, he's just the kind of uneducated middle-aged guy who's a mark for right-wing propaganda (although I'm guessing he doesn't vote). His diet could be far better than Rice's but he chooses to eat pasta, nachos, desserts and burgers. The amount of sugar and coffee he and LT consume is far more unhealthy than sardines and rice cooked with hotel bathroom water. Also, as sweet as LT is, she appears to be very dim and seems to have lived a very sheltered and isolated life. There are just so many gaps in her knowledge of basic words/cultural things (movies, phrases and people she's never heard of are a consistent theme). My guess is she was homeschooled and not allowed to have many friends. Trooper isn't as smart as he thinks he is but he's far more savvy about the world than she is. I'd imagine that after a while her "innocence" would become very, very dull indeed, even if she worships him. Her best quality is that she's always smiling on camera, and laughs a lot. Every outing, no matter how infrequent or mundane, seems to make her very happy. The rest of the time she seems to be content to stay home alone while her man is going about his unfinished bizness.

Rice is rolling the cash with all this work, he is talking about spending an extra $1500+ to stay on the strip the entire time vs off strip weekends and says $1500 over 7 weeks is not that much, WHAT? This is the guy who would go to great lengths to save $5 on a daily basis.

Agree with everything about Trooper and LT. LT has to be as dumb as a dodo to worship Tim the way she does. If she's actually happy being with him then it only proves that ignorance is bliss!
Regarding Rice... I think his biggest problem is that he is such an extreme miser. Ive known people through gambling like him over the years who will not spend a single cent unless absolutely forced to. Only time they eat well is when they use comps or someone else is paying. They own a handfull of old raggy clothes that they have been wearing repeatedly for the last several years. They live itinerant/nomadic or even parasitic lifestyles under the pretense of wanting their freedom. However the reality is that it's because the very thought of paying rent is enough to bring them to their knees. They even neglect their own health because they refuse to pay for health insurance or pay out of pocket fees to see doctors or specialists.
Ultimately they end up living miserable lives because every single thing they do is based around saving money. The most crazy part is that no amount of money in the bank ever changes their thinking. They could win a million dollars cash and it wouldn't improve their quality of life whatsoever because it would just sit in the bank collecting interest. It seems that Rice is this kind of extreme miser who will live as frugally as humanly possible regardless of how much money he has or makes.

Isnt he working like 3 double shifts each week for 6 weeks? Why splurge on housing when you're never there? As long as the place is clean and quiet, who cares how much it costs?
