I’m not interested in posting on the new forum because my screename isn’t purple there and most of my friends have moved on. Just don’t forget I had a purple screename ok?
If I do post on the new forum , i will likely post on a new anonymous account and stick to “respectable “ posts. I dont post on any alt accounts.
It’s interesting how this has all played out because after failing to be a celebrity and not being a known high stakes pro and my many addiction issues I’m largely unknown now outside of very small circles which is a real blessing.

Im in a really good place, largely a random but very well known in certain circles and it all happened accidently.
I am having surgeries this month. Due to years of alcohol and drug abuse there may be complications in removing my hernias and other things. My doctor only gives me a 95% chance to live. Hopefully I hit the two outer so I dont have to hear about Trump anymore.
I mostly view any thing i would post here as stopping in and saying hi. I left in large part due to horrible views on lgbt issues in the community which is something i would never discuss with you all again, that would be another benefit of a new account. I could just be another “solid dude” , the most spoiled type of person on the planet.
Being interesting and worth listening to is a far better quality than being respectable.
Here is to experiencing plenty of future political disappointments! Good luck with the surgery.

Thank you! One thing I would consider in regards to being interesting is I dont think that has much value on here, and in fact going forward the most interesting posters will be poker theorists/known winners, at least on twoplustwo. Since this site will mostly be an outlet for that even more than it was in the past since there will never be a big enough boom to drag the types of people who showed up to this forum in 2003-2008 again.

Thank you! Two things: this wouldnt have to be a secret, if someone found out it was me that would be perfectly fine, ive done a lot for people on here and dont have anything to hide. It could be more of a rebranding/open secret kind of thing for the new site.
Second, I think i could do a better job at disguising my account than you think. I was an english major in college. Im just not a grammar nazi. Maybe on my new account I could be😀

Ok so I go into this poke shop to get some poke to go and right when I walk in there is this girl who is maybe 6 or 7 laying on a couch and my dog doesn't really like kids so I have to be careful but the girl wants to pet my dog so I let her but she's trying to go from over the top of her head which my dog doesn't like so I'm telling her she has to go from lower to pet her chin/neck instead because that's really how you should try to greet a dog in general
And the girl isn't listening and continuing to try to pet the top of her head and so I switch to Spanish (girl and her mom did look hispanic) and I'm like "más abajo"...then her mom at the same time tells her in English to listen to me and I sit next to them because we're all waiting for food to go and they speak English the whole time to each other and I kinda felt bad for trying to speak to the girl in Spanish.
Is it racist? Should I feel bad? How much stereotyping based on the color of skin is acceptable in determining what languages people might speak? Certainly if this girl looked like a gringo and her mom looked like a gringo I wouldn't have tried Spanish on her. Also remember that I'm San Diego county and the border is like 40 miles from here and tons of people speak Spanish, so would that make a difference compared to say if I were in Minneapolis?

It seems you tried engaging her in English first, and she didn't respond. So seems logical to try Spanish at that point.
I find that at the grocery store/7-11/etc. if the cashier is bilingual they normally will start with Spanish when greeting a customer if they have a certain look indicating they may not speak English (basically they present themselves as a day laborer) and it doesn't seem to be a big deal in the rare instances their profiling is wrong and the person doesn't speak Spanish or is bilingual themselves.
This is an amusing semi-related anecdote, but we have done a lot of work on our house recently; and the contractor we use for everything is 1st generation bilingual Mexican American and all the guys he brings in are Spanish speaking (with variable ability to speak English). And I dont understand Spanish but my wife does (she had a job for 15 years that basically forced her to learn Spanish and she did); and a couple times when a new guy came in the contractor would mention offhand to them that my wife understands Spanish (presumably warning them not to talk **** about us in Spanish in front of her).

Interesting. He has been testing how far he can go with blaming everything in the United States on black people. I just assumed that he got banned because he pressed that agenda too hard.

I think there is a broad rule against just making stuff up like "this was motivated by some random vote about healthcare for undocumented people" that the shooter might not even have been aware of. But one advantage right wingers have is they can never lose any credibility because nobody takes them seriously to begin with.

There aren't any specific rules beyond trying to keep things broadly reasonable which is a nebulous term at this whim of the current moderation team which hopefully has appeared reasonable so far
In general some may note a sensitivity to using murder to push an agenda. Luciom specifically has been warned multiple times about pushing violent anti leftist rhetoric and today I drew a line.

You must not be very familiar with Victor, Karl, Deuces, et. al. and their work in the Israel thread. Based on what they are allowed to get away with, I assure you there is no broad rule about making **** up and calling either groups or individuals murderers, rapists, genociders, etc. based on nothing but their own biases and imaginations.
