The ATP/WTA Tennis thread
The cluster**** to the AO seems to have been resolved, and we're ready to fire up the hype for 2021.
I'm running a season
Last set gonna be kind of anticlimactic, imo. Sinner shook and possibly hurt.
I gotta take my kid to hockey in 5 mins and miss the end of this gem.
When will the French Open stop being such arrogant ****s and deploy Hawkeye? Mauresmo may not be solely responsible, but her say must surely have a lot of influence.
lol song selection
Sinner hit like four winners in that 5-6 game which Alcaraz somehow got back and turned into winners.
6-0 to Alcaraz in this tiebreak - Jim Courier and his co-commentator haven't said a word during the whole thing.
Alcaraz's ability to generate that level of quality under pressure was truly impressive.
9-2 in the 5th breaker must be the most match point any player has ever had in an ATP final or possibly in any legit match ever.
Only needed one though.
This match appeared to be the highest level of tennis I've seen. These guys are now better than the big 3 were IMO, speaking only objectively about the level they play at. They hit harder, with as much control/consistency, and cover the court better. Thoughts?

I think peak Nadal could take either of them (at RG). When he was reeling off French opens, it seemed effortless. He might have needed to elevate his game a bit, I think that was well within his abilities. He just seldom needed it.
Alcaraz seems a bit inconsistent as well. Nadal forehand had lots of margin for error.
They do look good.
Alvarez seemed to consistently hit balls at his feet but never seemed to get punished. Like sinner would hit returns at his feet and he'd just kinda get it back and deep.
Only feel for Sinner because he had TMP. Both these guys can and probably should get to 10 Slams including career grand slams. Other than the Big 3, only Agassi has a career grand slam in the Open Era.
Let’s see how well Novak can do on grass.
My sleep is ruined for a couple days but it was worth it.

TMP?
Triple match point
Maybe one of the greatest sports interviews I've ever seen.
It doesn't look fair that Shelton has to complete his match tomorrow, needing only one game to win the match.
Dimitrov retires with yet another injury after being up two sets on Sinner.
Keeps my Sinner/Sabalenka future Wimbledon champion bet alive ...
Sinner got extremely lucky ...
Let's see how he responds against Shelton.
Great match right now with Sabalenka.
Huge win for her. What a comeback. The most dominant player in women's tennis in the last two years.
I’ll have a dollar on Djokovic/Animisova
Incredible match ...
Need Djokovic to get past Sinner and beat Alcaraz and ride off in the sunset like a GOAT.

I’ve decided that Friday’s MLB game will be available for free on my website. Since this is a no-risk fix, I suggest putting some serious money on it!
