Colossus is now at 14.5 hours...624 left out of 4,286

I just got back from registering for tomorrow's 10 AM flight....the exit line at the Horseshoe/Paris parking garage was taking like 15-20 mins.

Yes you are a quitter. Majority of players love new location and record number of participants are an evidence.

People were threatening to quit the WSOP after Jack got rid of the free all day buffet, and predicted the death of it when Becky took over.

IIRC Becky sold those bills for $2.5 million. Saw something tonight they were all auctioned off individually last year. Uncirculated 1934s. In sequential order but there were some gaps in the series.

Michael Lavin just won the $1,500 NL Holdem shootout tournament for $267k, but the real reward was that he earned a $1,000,000 bonus from clubwpt gold. He got lucky and won every all in at the final table. Pretty sick

I watched this last night. It was nice to see him win the bracelet and the clubwpt gold 1 million dollar bonus. The brodcasters were downplaying how good Lavin was and didn't mention that he had won 10 circuit events until the end of the broadcast.

I'm going to do Caesar's as I'm Diamond so park for free, and the walk will be a good cooling off period after I get sucked out on or go on tilt and get eliminated. πŸ˜€

Hopefully never, summer is great because of school holidays

Here we are a week and some change into WSOP 2025, and on a busy Friday there are almost the same amount of low/midstakes PLO in town as there is low/midstakes NLHE. The change is happening slowly but it seems NLHE will be replaced as the favorite game on the cash side.

No one is talking about this but times really are changing, and not so slow. Aria is the PLO place, and has more plo tables runing than NLH. In WSOP cash games the most played game is... big o? But more important, virtually no 5/10 NHL runing and a lot of 2 5 10 big o and plo, also 3 or 4 or 5 tables of 20/40 mixed games everyday makes me happy, this is a price point I have not seen on mixed games for a long times and if the trend keeps going this might have some impact in the near future.

I dont get it, but the plo double board bomb pot who used to run everyday at bellagio is now also spread at the WSOP cash game and with waiting lists. I remember seing this game played at high stakes last year at the RW, but not on multiple rooms / price ranges.

Bellagio still has a lot of limit / mixed games going on. I dont remember how it was before, but like 8 or 9 tables everyday up to 200 400? The mixed games from 80 160 to 300 600 (that s why the 20 40 at wsop is so important)? Also the big 2k 4k in bobys room and a stud 30 60 have been runing everyday I think? There are still like 8 tables of 5 10 NLH at peak times, but let s see how long this goes.

Maybe I m missing some, but yes poker is changing. I would love to see more people toughts on this, and maybe I can try to give more insight into this as a cash game reg, but IDK if this is the right thread.

Proof by contradiction would be to find one single individual that isn't playing because of the app requirement, which I imagine wouldn't be too hard. Maybe sit this thread out, champ. You clearly can't handle it.

Then, we will see try to determine extra entries the WSOP got because how easy it is to use the app to buy-in rather than stand in line, right? We can't realistically measure either points you or I are making here, but I can guarantee we gain more than we lose with this app.

It's interesting to me how much the cash game traffic has dropped at the WSOP venue since it moved from Rio to Horseshoe/Paris. I assume that's due to the increased ease of getting to more prominent poker rooms like Bellagio and Aria since the WSOP is now center-Strip.

I hate that the $20-$40 O8 HK cash games have dried up that used to be fairly prevalent early in the series while a lot of Omaha events were going on. You used to see multiple games of that discipline and stakes at both WSOP and Bellagio. I guess those players are now primarily playing either the $20-$40 Mix or $1-$2 Big O. Or, they'd just rather play at Orleans?

Got hit on all fronts many of which you listed.

No longer isolated at Rio. They jacked up rakes. Mixed games becoming more popular and people realize they are here to say. Older population exiting. Big O and Bomb pots becoming more popular.

He should be mobbed at the cage.

He has 4.3 m, 2nd has 2.5 m and 3rd has 0.6 m, 3-handed. He should cash for at least $200K. lol anyone getting any of it.

I was under the impression that any employees, regardless of position, in the casino industr, can not enter tournaments, for obvious reason. Maybe, I mis-understand your post.

In 2002, Mike Majerus finished third in the Employee event then went on to win the $2, 000 Limit Hold 'Em the next day for his first bracelet. The next year John Arrage finished third in the Employee event

Thank you

He was up 7 mil to 700k at one point and blew it. He may be the biggest m named to ever win a bracelet. Can anyone think of a bigger name without one?

Would be absolutely atrocious for rec players and tourists... never going to happen. Would cut like 95+% of non pros from out of the states instantly. Not even exaggerating.

They held it in October a couple years back . I loved it , weather was really manageable and nice . The number of entrants for most tournaments set records too.
