looks like they are dumping paint on the flotilla or more likely they are doing biological testing bc Israel loves that sort of thing. kinda like some other countries I can think of.

It looks like they marked the boat for a potential missile strike.

Greta got arrested

Ah! Man! I thought for sure she was gonna get past the blockade and be able to feed the Gazans.

Israel announced the 50 kg of flour on board the ship will be added to the rest of the aid that is sent to Gaza daily. So Greta and Co. can consider their mission a successful one.

Well now Greta will know what it's like to be "kidnapped".

How fun is this?

the aid that the IDF uses as hunger games type bait to murder on average dozens of starving people a day.

It should also be noted Greta has been "arrested" numerous times for her performative activism. So there is nothing really new about this episode for her. Except her own antagonism and inflammatory rhetoric towards (((Israel))) is much more pronounced than any of the other numerous authorities who have "arrested" her.

I hope she is treated just like any other Hamas supporter.

Hamas has been killing the people running to the aid. The rumors it was the IDF have been debunked.

its new to be arrested by Israel. they run concentration camps and ass rape prisoners to death on a daily basis. they kept Jeremy Loffredo in solitary confinement for 3 days and tortured people in the room next to him.

it would not be a surprise if she is found with a bullet in her head tomorrow as that is exactly what they did people from a previous flotilla in 2010.

all that said, she will probably be fine. but I wouldnt be surprised by anything that these genocidal Supremacist Extremists do.

If you cared about Israel you wouldn’t want that.

This is a prime opportunity for Israel to demonstrate their moral superiority to regimes that brutally suppress dissent. If they simply let her go and don’t arrest her, that will do far more to undermine Hamas than if they treated her like a criminal.

umm, that ship sailed. they just abducted her for trying to carry baby formula to a starving population.

Israel already announced everyone would be returned to their home countries. Greta is probably on a flight back to Sweden as we speak. And no one on the pro Hamas left will give Israel any credit for anything.

Try sailing into anyone’s water borders without prior authorization and see what happens to you. That goes for any country on Earth that has the capability to regulate militarily any of their surrounding bodies of water.

those werent in Israeli waters tho

A minor technicality for the country with 50+ years of illegal settlement in Palestine.

Spain’s foreign ministry has summoned an Israeli diplomat to a meeting today in protest at the seizing of the Madleen, according to El País. A Spanish citizen, Sergio Toribio, is among the activists on the boat.

“The foreign ministry is in contact with the Spaniard in question, with his family and with the Israeli foreign ministry, and is exercising consular protection with regard to our citizen,” foreign ministry sources told the paper.

A pre-recorded video posted on social media shows Toribio holding up his Spanish passport and saying: “My name is Segio Toribio from Spain. If you are seeing this video, we have been intercepted at sea and I have been kidnapped by Israeli occupation forces, or forces of a country complicit in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.

You're a weird and very angry man.

Israel's streak of executing starving people at the aid checkpoints remains unblemished as of today in case anyone was wondering.

Israel's streak of executing starving people at the aid checkpoints remains unblemished as of today in case anyone was wondering.

I expect you mean this from yesterday, four killed:--

Meanwhile:--

Boaz Bismuth, a parliamentarian from Netanyahu's Likud party, repeated his leader's positions: that there is no famine in Gaza, that Israel respects the laws of war and that unwarranted criticism of its conduct by countries including the UK, France and Canada incites antisemitic attacks on Jews, including murder.

Lawyers I have spoken to believe that there is evidence that Israel followed war crimes, committed by Hamas when it attacked Israel, with very many of its own, including the crime of genocide. It is clear that Israel has hard questions to answer that will not go away.

It also faces a legal process alleging genocide at the International Court of Justice and has a prime minister with limited travel options as he faces a warrant for arrest on war crimes charges issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Rival politicians inside Israel accuse Netanyahu of presiding over war crimes and turning Israel into a pariah state.

He has pushed back hard, comparing himself - when the warrant was issued - to Alfred Dreyfus, the Jewish officer wrongly convicted of treason in an antisemitic scandal that rocked France in the 1890s.

Netanyahu comparing himself to Dreyfus is quite special. As Jeremy Bowen says here, he needs to hold the far-right coalition together, to stay in office, to stave off his personal legal problems.

As prime minister he can prevent a national inquiry into his role in security failures that gave Hamas its opportunity before 7 October and slow down his long-running trial on serious corruption charges that could land him in jail.

its hard to keep track anymore as there have been multiple massacres across multiple aid points the last couple days.

also, there were eyewitness and survivor accounts of an armed gang executing people today.

every day we get scenes like this one.

apparently people walk miles to the aid site and sleep overnight. the Israelis periodically fire on them and then eventually either let them get some food or tell them to come back tomorrow.

That sounds depressingly likely, as their aim is to kid and placate the Americans, not to feed Gazans.

The clan-based gangs armed by the Israelis aren't actually ISIS, they're what former Israeli defence minister Avigdor Lieberman calls 'the equivalent of ISIS'. But they are a thing, the anti-Hamas Popular Forces of Palestine under Yasser Abu Shabab. They're designated a terrorist group by Israel and the US. But Netanyahu says that's fine.

Some Middle East commentators say the ISIS link is a bit of a stretch.
