AM YISRAEL CHAI.
[QUOTE=Crossnerd]
ya the main gang doesnt seem to be ISIS according to people in Gaza and in contact with Gazans.
So I was correct when I said that it wasn’t ISIS, right?
there are many other gangs
sure but when I was skeptical that it was isis you acted like I was an idiot for not knowing the thing that you yourself admit wasn’t actually true.
there are a lot of gangs. some are ideologically ISIS according to many observers, including Israeli politicians themselves.
Ofc I wasnt wrong. Show me where I called Abu Sharab ISIS.
A thinker suggests a confederation of Israeli and Palestinian states as solution.
This is a one state solution in all but name but I actually quite like it.
They made Greta watch the uncensored Oct 7th footage. Good for the Israelis. Yet another win for the good guys and a slap in the face to the woke. I hope they taped her eyes opened like in the movie "A Clockwork Orange"
What a great time

What the hell is wrong with you?

from one of the largest Hebrew papers lol
I can feel the goalposts moving again.
You need to reread that article.

They didn't make them watch. All the activists declined to watch the footage and were not forced to.
That sounds depressingly likely, as their aim is to kid and placate the Americans, not to feed Gazans. The clan-based gangs armed by the Israelis aren't actually ISIS, they're what former Israeli defence minister Avigdor Lieberman calls 'the equivalent of ISIS'. But they are a thing, the anti-Hamas Popular Forces of Palestine under Yasser Abu Shabab. They're designated a terrori
The current govt of Syria was described similarly, until they weren't. And now most of the western world already has, or is in the process of, recognizing them. I am not suggesting Shabab will have a similar arc. I am just saying the over the top rhetoric calling them ISIS on top of not being particularly accurate, can change very fast, when it is convenient.
I am the last person to defend the actions of Sunni Islamist militias. I think they should all be eliminated with extreme prejudice. That being said, ISIS regularly executed prisoners in gruesome fashion, including throat slicing, burning alive in cages, having children gun them down, etc. on top of all the raping and forced marriages of female prisoners.
And for all the over the top rhetoric calling everyone ISIS, most of the other extremist Sunni militias (including but not limited to Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Shabab, HTS, etc.) haven't stooped to this level. And most of them are opposed to ISIS, although the disputes are more about theological beliefs and tactics, as opposed to moral qualms over their behavior.
the Syrian regime beats, executes, tortures, and rapes people every day. that the West and its media doesnt recognize Jolani as a butcher and gives him legitimacy doesnt mean he stopped being a headchopper. it means the media lies.

You’re just saying that because he got rid of the guy you like.
when have I ever had a good thing to say about Assad?
this is all you guys have. oh you dont like war in Ukraine? that must mean you love Putin. oh you dont like mass murder in Gaza? oh you must love Hamas and hate Jews. its pathetic.
do you really not know Jolani's background? we know he was affiliated with ISIS and his mentor was a leading ISIS figure. just read his wiki ffs.

I mean you support Hamas and Hezbollah so it’s not really too much of a leap. But sure, you don’t like him, you just also thought he should remain in power and that the US was wrong to support the opposition to him. And you probably deny the chemical weapons attacks alleged against him by the same international community you are defending as charging Israel with being an apartheid, genocidal state.
no, I dont think the US should have spent 100s of billions of dollars throughout a decade causing death and misery in Syria. and the proof is in the pudding as far as Assad versus these ISIS clowns who have killed at least 10s of thousands in the recent months.
its pure white supremacy to think the US has the right to do these things.

Since WWII in the Middle East the Baathists in Syria and Iraq (the Assad dynasty and Saddam Hussein) probably killed more civilians than every other regime combined*. Your perspective that the Assad regime compares favorably to HTS (or really anyone except maybe Saddam) as far as civilian death toll is very historically inaccurate and laughable.
*The low end estimate for how many civilians the Assad regime killed in the Syrian Civl War alone is 200,000.
who started the Syrian Civil War? who funded it? this was a regime change war fully planned and supported by the US to steal the resources of a sovereign and independent and self sufficient nation. and ofc to benefit Israel.

If the bold is a claim for that area of the world, maybe? (still not sure tbh).
If it is a claim historically, and worldwide, lol?

In the post you quoted I did qualify it as in the ME since WWII. 200,000 is a lot of dead civilians. And that is just the Syrian Civil War. There was a lot of killing along the way before the Civil War even started.
Again, the point is Victor trying to portray the Baath/Assad regime in a positive light along this dimension is farcical.
Now you could argue the Arab world has generally been so sucky the last 100 years, the Assad regime wasn't even particularly sucky as far as these things go. And maybe that argument has some merit. But still, very large body count that cant be just hand waived away as Victor is doing.
