2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Schnauzer number 1. Pick 9I hoped to get Gesicki but he went a round early. I was gonna get a third TE since they both had week 12 off but decided to get Dart to go with Nabers. Maybe a mistake. I am concerned about Tua staying healthy. I wish I would have passed on Burrow and taken Mahomes 3 rounds later. QB) Burrow, Tua, DartRB) C Brown, Conner, Stevenson, Ekeler, Dobbins, Gi
Burrow without Chase or Tee is a tough proposition. Especially like you said with the options later. I’d have taken Iosivas or Burton where you took Dyami. I’ve accepted I just won’t have much Burrow this season.
I like Dart on this team. But protecting against Tua’s injury downside isn't the reason you add him.
Chubb being relevant is pretty unlikely, but I guess he can probably be considered a physical outlier. So I won’t count him out completely. I’ll mix him in on some teams, but it doesn’t affect how I feel about Mixon, assuming Mixon is healthy.
In Chubb’s defense, and maybe part of it is the Texans not having many options, but he did receive a pretty decent contract. Part of it could be concern for Mixon’s health. $2.5 guarantee with up to $5 in value. That’s more than Javonte, Miles Sanders, Elijah Mitchell, Dowdle, Mostert, and maybe a few more I can’t think of.
Only took until my 4th draft before I drafted a Phin, but kind of had to take Reek after an RB/RB start and Wilson/Rice are both off the board.
Dak, Stroud, Dimes
Saquon, Jacobs, Jones, Guerendo, Wright, Hunter
Reek, Flowers, Pickens, Pittman, Tre, Kirk, Felton
LaPorta, Muth

I agree about Burrow. I instantly regretted it. I had a galaxy brain of pairing him with Brown and Gesiki to be different. I got sniped on Losivas so I took Dyami who I like this year. This was another galaxy brain of what if Hunter plays mostly on defense.

The only threat to Mixon is if Chubb gets 10 plus carries and is a TD vulture. Volume has been what makes Mixon so good. Chubb is no threat to take over the back field. I suppose it's possible Chubb gets cut before the season. Historically RB's Chubbs age coming off a serious injury and changing teams isn't so good. The Browns love him and still let him go.
I'm just not a big believer in free agents that are finally getting signed this time of the year. Just a (perhaps too) simple premise of, "If they were really any good or valuable, then they would have been signed already."
But I'll still grab a few Chubb shares since he could have contingent value. I would only do it on teams that don't have anyone from HOU or LAC though.
Chubb is my 2nd highest owned guy so far lol.

Yeah, you’d do well in the long run always fading these guys. Basically any FA not signed by the draft is probably a good fade.
i believe this is my first or maybe second team with AR/Dimes. I really should have gone with Kaleb or Judkins over Deebo. I don't even like Deebo.
Jayden, AR, Dimes
JT, Tracy, Tuten, Blue, Wright, Dowdle
JJ, Adams, Waddle, Deebo, Meyers, Egbuka, Brown
Warren, Ferguson
Hahah sometimes something just takes over when you’re in a draft and you look back and say why’d I draft this guy?
I’m worried about AR’s shoulder. If he’s healthy, I think it’s a legit competition. But not great it’s a recurring injury and he’s seeking more opinions.
Close to the last call for the German Shepherd. That thing is filling fast.
Finally pulled the trigger and took Burrow at the 4/5. Probably too many rookies lol
Burrow, Tua
Jacobs, Hampton, Mondre, White, Keaton, Moss
Chase, Reek, Pearsall, Golden, Burden, Tre, Malik
Loveland, Strange, Gesicki
Haha me too, but I don't really like mine. And yeah, I think 3 rookies plus Malik behind your first 3 might be a little too thin, but it can work if they exceed expectations. I expect Golden to play a decent snap share in week 1. I'm still not sure about Burden and Tre to start the year.
I was drafting 3 German Shepherds at once. Falling Stroud is also a trap. I keep trying it and hating it when I don't already have at least one piece of Hou. Also my first time drafting Moss, but I think he has a good chance to play snaps week 1. My RB room is thin but has upside.
Spoiler
Burrow, Stroud
Kaleb, Mason, Charbs, Tuten, Guerendo, Sampson, Moss
Chase, Tee, Metcalf, Diggs, Burden, Bryant, Wilson
McBride, Schultz
My other two teams.
Spoiler
Lamar, Caleb
Jeanty, Mixon, Davis, Allgeier, Roschon, Wright
Ladd, Reek, Odunze, Aiyuk, Mooney, Bateman, Coker
Warren, Gesicki, Schultz
Spoiler
Maye, Herbert, Stroud
Breece, Mixon, TreVeyon, Benson, Corum
Nico, Ladd, Evans, Pearsall, Kupp, Harris, Coker
Henry, Taylor, Schultz
I can't believe I ended up with Schultz on all 3 lol.
I think I like the third team the most. I wasn't sure between 3-6-6-3 and 3-5-7-3 on that one.
I like the Burrow team the least, so back to fading him at the 4/5.
JK went at picks 132, 161, and 164, so that steam has already begun. I'm glad I have 10% so far.
Chubb went at picks 173, 184, and 187.
I like all 3
Looks like I'm at 7% Dobbins (pre) and 6% (post) on DK.
36% (pre on 14 teams) and 2% (post) on UD.
Stacked the olds at TE
Dak, Herbie, Tua
Kaleb, Pollard, Javonte, Braleon, Shipley, Kendre
Lamb, Ladd, Reek, Hunter, Waddle, Dyami, ADM
Kelce, Andrews
Got 2 more of the 10 Schnauzers I was planning on doing to go, and I think both will be solo QB lol
Pretty decent Dobbins exposure. I'll probably draft him at even moving forward at whatever price he ends up, especially in the timeboxed contests. Thankfully I've been fading Estime for the most part too. I've taken him less than 5x.
Kelce/Andrews is a fun TE room if they can make it to w17. I've done it a few times. I like the rest of that team if the RBs come through.
And good luck with the solo QB haha.
Zero WR in SF. I think it turned out pretty well.
Brock, JJM, Ward
Saquon, Henry, Harvey, Mason, Spears, Guerendo, Emanuel Wilson
Addison, Reed, Downs, Legette, Tillman, Pierce, Lockett, Coker
Kittle, Kraft
That’s pretty crazy. Some more details in the thread.
I'm going to do more fantasy leagues this year. Most likely a few standard leagues on FFPC(12 team snake). How would you guys prepare for this format? Where to do research, where to do mock drafts, where to pre rank the players etc? Thanks
Erik might ban my sub if he saw that WR room haha. He’d have taken JJ and Puka where I took Saquon and Henry.

I’m not sure who plays FFPC here. I think Jimmy might have last year.
Your best bet is probably to check out some of the sites that have content on FFPC. A lot of them will do streams later in the summer of some drafts too.
Legendary Upside, ETR, Liam (beatbestball.com), etc. You might be able to find some discords to talk about it or can ask in YouTube streams.
