2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Solo Mahomie. Now that I've done 3 of these. I could see having maybe around 3%-5% of my portfolio being solo QB. The biggest benefit is how stress free the draft is once you get your QB. While everyone is worrying about getting sniped, I'm over here without a worry in the world just picking my RBs and WRs lol.
Of course, the trade off is the stress I'll feel later on if my QB is a bust or gets injured.

Schnauzer exposure through 10 drafts. As you can see, I didn't get a single late round pick (I had to reach for Puka and Gibbs).

SF - Might have pushed TE a little too far. Would've added a 3rd, but didn't really like my options.
Actually I should've skipped Shough. Drafted Godwin. Then I could've drafted a TE where I took Shaheed and take Zach Wilson or Milroe towards the end.

I'm going to do more fantasy leagues this year. Most likely a few standard leagues on FFPC(12 team snake). How would you guys prepare for this format? Where to do research, where to do mock drafts, where to pre rank the players etc? Thanks
I used to do a lot of NFFC fantasy leagues which I think are similar but slight differences in scoring. There used to be a guy who did 150 teams a year and live streamed his drafts. I don't know how you can do that many redraft leagues. I think he had an assistant. That was a few years ago. It's quite possible there is a similar dude doing your league. that would be a good start watching those.
I personally like to listen to a wide variety of podcasts and YouTube broadcasts. I want to stay away from group think. I also listen to a lot of individual team podcasts. Sometimes you can get some inside info that isn't floating around. You can get a pretty good feel for what the locals think.

Thanks! Yes I do get content from multiple sources - mostly pods. Maybe I'll just do my pre ranks on yahoo bc its easy to do there and then print out a few copies before I draft elsewhere

Last Schanauzer so I got funky and pulled up Bucky to get a unique starting combo. Then screwed it up later on by accidentally drafting Ward a full 3 rounds ahead of ADP. Got lucky though by getting 2 rounds of value on Shipley.

I almost pulled up Tua at 124, worried that he might not make it back to me at 141. I really should have after seeing the Waddle team take Stafford at 110 (ADP 143). Well the Stafford team didn't take Tua, but the Jonnu team did at 133 (even though they already had Mahomes and Goff).

I think CMC will be a top 5 pick for sure before draft season is over. Why did you pull him up to number 2? I feel like there are plenty of opportunities to get him much later. I don't think having a unique team is as valuable in a smaller tournament like this.
I'm fading Sutton. Denver hasn't had the talent the past two years that they do on offense this year. There could be some TD regression even though he is very good at scoring TD's. JK and RJ are gonna be busting some long runs for TD. I think Bo is gonna score more rushing TD's near the goal line now that he has some actual RPO threats.
I think Purdy is gonna have a nuclear season. That SF defense could be bad.
The Schnauzer is 186k teams, so I think it fits the bill of the getting unique with a player that will be this price later anyways. Especially with it filling within the next week or two.
Also, when you’re 500 teams deep, sometimes you like to change it up a bit haha. Especially chasing $100k for $3. I have plenty of CMC in the late first/early second too.
I’m still into Sutton and really don’t see any of the other receivers beating him out for targets. Engram isn’t a big target earner either.
Guys like RJ and JK being added to the offense should be good for everyone.
Sutton has shown multiple times throughout his career that he can beat expectation on TDs, so I’m willing to keep betting on it, especially on an ascending offense. TDs are king for .5 PPR scoring. He’s also w17 with Rice.
Agreed on Purdy and SF. They’ll be one of my highest exposure offenses.
Had Rice and Worthy, and the guy to my left takes naked Mahomes 2 rounds ahead of ADP lol. Only on DK.

Mahomes is weird on DK. His ADP is built on people either taking him in the 5th/early 6th or him falling to the late 7th haha.
