THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reac
Just started following a golf tipster, he tipped Burns to win yesterday d'oh :(
Several people have noted the close (allegedly) correlation between Oakmont and Augusta National & Torrey Pines.
Four players in the field have won at both; Rose has two runner ups at AN.
One is, unless I screwed up after looking at it for a couple hours, the only player who’s made the cut in every Masters & USO since 2020; 11/11, Rahm is 10/10, as is Scottie; Xander Morikawa Cantlay Lowry are 10/11.
And he’s 57-1, per Cirque 6/10. You heard it here first.
No shortage of good possible winners. I don't want to see a first timer.
One of the presenters on Sky sports in the UK just said something I sort of agree. Whilst it's sort of fun seeing these players struggle out of the thick rough should it really be so thick in and around the greens? With it being so thick and lush you're more just hit and hoping instead of using finesse and touch.
I guess every course requires you to have different skills.
Seems like the afternoon wave might be the place to be. Haven't checked any data but is there any correlation between US Open's and significant wave splits?
I was led to believe this was going to be difficult. Currently 23 blokes under par!
Holy **** Reed
Finished the day with only 10 under par. Better. More carnage needed.
A fun shot n’ a beer bar bet would be how many of those 10 stay under par (ou 4.5?) & miss the cut (ou 1.5?). We used to take this Friday off and get to the bar when it opened and do stuff like that.

My experience with thick 4-inch USGA rough was that it wasn't a huge deal around the greens because it was so consistently thick that you knew how it was going to come out. So for me, the big deal was missing the fairway by 3 yards and not being able to advance it very far.
LOL was reviewing things and realized that I’d overlooked Pavon’s win at Torrey last year, so I swapped him in for Burns. He was 5th to Bryson last year and t12 at Augusta tho he MC this year.
And LOL, like every single last minute late night decision usually is, both those changes were spectacularly wrong,
Carnage coming for the pm groups today.
Rors has lost the plot.
