Sadly that doesn't make the world close to perfect. We have to deal with the world as it is. You may be confusing the only game in town with some sort of likelyhood.

In a better, still very far from perfect world, neither would have been in power in the first place. That's the thing that really matters.

I’d like to think that one day you’ll grow up and look more dispassionately at world events instead of only through your own warped lens of good guys and bad guys.

Unfortuantely we are seeing and I fully expect will see far more of a rise in antisemitism.

The very loose way accusations of antisemitism have been chucked around is going to make it much easier for that to become actions. The worse will be shielded by the barrage of silly accusation.

Unfortunately antisemitism will never end if you continue to describe criticism of Israel in that way.

It gets to the point that people dismiss it, get driven into the welcoming arms of the far right/etc. Worse of all more start to openly identify with it.

i'm not claiming that criticism of israel is inherently antisemitic. take someone like bill haywood who has been very critical of israel and is cartoonishly wrong about almost everything. i dont claim he is an antisemite. he doesn't give off that vibe

On January 12, 2016, Benjamin Amsellem, a teacher, was attacked by a teenage boy wielding a machete outside a Jewish school in Marseille. The attacker claimed to be acting in the name of ISIS.[40] Amsellem resisted by parrying some of the machete blows with the large, leather-bound Bible he was carrying.[22] The attacker was a Kurdish Muslim whose family emigrated to France from Turkey. An excellent student from a stable, pious home, he is said by French authorities to have self-radicalized by spending long hours reading Islamist websites.[22]

On August 18, 2016, a "confirmed anti-semite"[41][42] shouted "allahu akbar"[43] (Takbir), as he attacked a 62-year-old Jew wearing a kippah on avenue des Vosges in Strasbourg. The attacker had previously stabbed another Jew in 2010 in Kléber square. The French Minister of the Interior, Bernard Cazeneuve, called the rabbi of Strasbourg to express his "solidarity". The attacker was said to have mental problems.[44] The attacker was charged the following day with "attempted murder based on the victim's appearance belonging to a race or religion."[45]
