right, there are no rules to war. the West has made sure of that. but the Muslim theocracies and the Russian oligarchs have infinitely more morality than the genocidal White Empire so they havent been willing to go full Gaza mode on their enemies. if they do, I wont blame them.

also, when fighting against an opponent who has come halfway across the world to murder and enslave and steal, then all means are acceptable.

it matters who started it and what they did and why they did it. the with its Israeli proxy launched a war to plunder and enslave 100s of millions of people in West Asia. you may believe in Western Supremacy and think it is ok to go all over the world and steal from people due to inherent racism, but I dont. and let me remind you that Israel started by bombing apartment buildings and assassinating scientists. Israel has destroyed all the hospitals and schools and food in Gaza. Israel kills the doctors, lawyers, academics, farmers, bakers, journalists.

Iran and Hamas and Hezbollah have done none of it. if they were to respond in kind, then ofc it would be justifiable at this point.

If all means are acceptable in one circumstance then in principle there’s at least one circumstance in which the means are acceptable.

Israel doesn’t use all means necessary, but again it does seem funny that you have put so much of your posture on this forum on not wanting babies to die or whatever but now calling for Iran to murder babies as retribution. Almost like again there’s not really a principled stance against these things and it’s all rhetoric on your part.

I mean Israel would just have a different view of who started the conflict and why their actions are justified. So you’re just in the same camp as them of trying to say that x action is justified because of y reason. But that the action is JUSTIFIABLE in principle is the point of agreement.

Well if you said you thought death camps were justified in one case but not another you might have a point, but we’re talking about completely normal tactics in a war. You seem to think Iran is justified in using these normal war tactics but Israel is not. Just pointing out how it’s not a matter of tactics but justification. In principle you are not ruling out the tactic being used.

I think Victor has made it clear that anything is fair if he sees the side perpetrating it as being oppressed. If that argument fails, he thinks all Israelis and non-Israelis living in Israel are part of the war machine.

Or you might hold onto that pretense but it would make your view form a contradiction (x action can be justified by y and it is not the case that x action can be justified by y)

Watching the IDF squad chuff about Iran hitting inappropriate non-military targets after Israel has bombed every hospital, school, and refugee camp in Gaza is amazing.

Yes when you put military targets in civilian infrastructure it is different than going after civilian infrastructure without military value.

The IDF HQ which Iran targeted is in downtown Tel Aviv right next to residential areas. IDF commanders and warfighters live in civilian infrastructure like apartment buildings. It sucks that they hide behind human shields this way, but Iran has a right to defend itself.
