Israel / Iran thread
Seems like this conflict is not going to end anytime soon and is worthy of its own thread.
Why do you guys have this need to get real time infos?
Iran will fall into chaos and become another Syria.
oh baby
NK would set off 10 million dollar missles for a big 4th july type extravenganza fear tactic for them - which is big money for NK whem their GDP is that of a medium city.
Im goinf to assume theve got at least something up their sleeve or this is all juat entertainment for the boomers in power there before they croak.

IDF says they've taken out 1/2 of Iran's missile launchers and 1/3-1/2 of their missile stockpile. It's probably just a matter of days until that nears 100% so if they're not going to surrender or give up their nuke program why not launch them before Israel destroys them.
Iran threatens response if US crosses 'red line': ambassador
"We will respond very, very, very seriously and strongly, and that is what we are doing now." 'We will respond strongly' -
"We will respond strongly and we will stop aggression from any side, be it Israel or the United States,"
"And we have given a message to the United States that we will respond very firmly and will stop the aggression by anybody -- including the United States
Is ultimate ultimatum the diplomatic equivalent of a triple dog dare? Trying to figure out how serious this is getting.
I assume it is go time now for the US attack plans after Iran hit an Israeli hospital - Shame for Iran they again had their chance to surrender
Israel might be able to do a commando raid instead of waiting for B-52s. I'm sure they're prepared to defend against a quick Navy Seals sort of in and out raid. But with Israel owning the skies they pretty much have the mountain to themselves. At any rate, they've learned a lot about tunnels, airshafts, etc, so I wouldn't want to be trapped down there.
US now clearing out embassy staff from Israel - more signs this strike from the US is coming soon.
Lammy (UK Foreign Secretary) meeting Rubio in DC today to talk Iran. Yesterday it was reported that the US still hadn't asked to use Fairford, Akrotiri and Diego Garcia for strikes, but they may now be asking. Last time, under Obama, the UK refused on legal grounds and it didn't happen. The UK Attorney General reportedly thinks the same now and the government has to take his advice, but he might have shifted on the grounds of non-proliferation and the IAEA's findings against Iran. The Conservative opposition say they'll back the government if it goes ahead.
The US can just make do without the British bases, but it's more difficult.

Surrender for what ?
Are we again in a spot to invade for non existing WMD like Irak ?
Fwiw I absolutely not care if they get invade or not .
I hate theocracies but I see no reason they should « surrender » .
They didn’t Even started anything, just responded but the concept of they hit an hospital after what Israel done to gaza is lol…
Moral of this story... Persians talk a lot of shyte without being able to back it up.
the only way they feel comfortable in any conflict is to allow someone else to do the fighting for them... Battle by Proxy.
you going to bark all day little dog, or are you going to bite.

You sure the USA need UK permission to use Diego Garcia? i think i read differently when the base renewal was discussed recently (but i might have read a wrong article or i might be remembering wrong)

It's a British base, so they do need permission, yes, since it would mean British involvement in war operations.
B2s from Diego have reportedly attacked Houthi targets in recent months (they've since been rostered home), but that was OK'd because the RAF have also bombed the Houthis. International shipping and Israel are entitled to defence against the Houthis. The US is not a party to the new UK lease on Diego from Mauritius so its agreement with the UK over use of the base is unchanged.
But in the case of Iran, the British answer is likely to be a no, because Sir Keir Starmer doesn't want Britain involved and doesn't think the US should go there either. And Starmer is a lawyer and there are Whitehall rumours that the Attorney General is advising against. David Lammy will meet the foreign ministers of Iran, France and Germany, and the senior EU diplomat, in Geneva tomorrow and the UK favours diplomacy at this point.
A significant part of Trump's brand is 'no foreign wars', so he may not be too keen to go there either. But he did drone an IRGC topdog in his first term, and just possibly he will authorise a limited strike on the Fordo underground nuclear facility, which only the USAF can carry out. The B2s could fly direct from Missouri and back with flight refuelling (and they are now at home in Missouri, not on Diego) and their supporting tankers could use bases other than Fairford, Lakenheath and Akrotiri. US tankers are not using Akrotiri even now, to support fighters defending Israel, because the UK is not diplomatically on board with Israel's war against Iran, though RAF fighters did help defend Israel against Iranian attacks last year because Iran was acting in aggression and not in self-defence.
