The exact level of intelligence of people like Vance and Hawley isn't that important. They are easily intelligent enough to be effective stewards of the public trust if they chose to be. They are easily intelligent enough to know that they are being disingenuous (and often outright lying) in a disgraceful effort to rise through the MAGA ranks. And they are easily intelligent

So let’s say Hawley and Vance wanted to take all leftists and systematically throw them into gas chambers. Would we still say that they are not bad for America?
Maybe you don’t like the word bad. How about, I believe that they will amplify America’s worst qualities in such a way that we will have a worse foreign and domestic policy than what we have now. Does that claim work better for you now that we have removed the words “bad for America” (despite the fact that anyone who is good faith knows that’s what we meant in the first place)

I really don’t care about your proposed ontology of what the US is at a fundamental level. I’m just wondering if you understand what it means when people say “x person will be bad for America”. There’s no requirement in that claim that America be founded on good virtues, so bringing up the history is irrelevant to that claim.
