2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Allen, Caleb, Rattler, Mac
Kyren, Chuba, Jones, Najee, Shipley, Hill, Neal
Nico, Rashee, DJM, Rome, Aiyuk, Palmer
Loveland, Kincaid, Schultz
yep
Lamar, Bryce, Sanders
Breece, Mixon, Pollard, ETN, Giddens, Lloyd, Corum
Nico, BTJ, Tet, Downs, Legette, Tillman, Dyami
Andrews, Njoku, Arroyo
I liked your team better than mine. Mostly bc my wr corp sucks
Hurts, Tua, Shough
Henry, Achane, Walker, Warren, Shipley, Neal, Tucker
Ladd, Smith, Olave, Shaheed, Hollywood, Palmer, Lockett
Jonnu, Goedert, Chig
Yours can still work. Depending on where I pick, I've been trying to lock in 2 Alphas. That way I can switch the focus to RB/QB, unless I find a stackable WR.
Maye, Geno, Dimes
Jeanty, Walker, BRob, Dobbins, Guerendo, Moss
Chase, Pickens, Odunze, Downs, QJ, Doubs, Pop, Dyami, Malik
Bowers, Henry
Crazy te run here, but I think it turned out ok. Got multi rd ADP values on AR (25 spots) and Shough (40 spots)
SF
Maye, Stroud, AR, Shough
Gibbs, Breece, Hampton, Chubb, Shipley, Neal
Puka, Worthy, Flowers, Golden, J Higgins, Shaheed, Hollins
Goedert, Juwan, Theo
Just realized it's probably not evident, but my Maye/Geno team above was SF.
Getting a lot more t4 picks
Allen, Ward, Milroe, Rattler
Brown, Kamara, Jones, Pollard, Tracy, Sanders
Nico, Btjr, DJM, Shakir, Mims, Lockett, MVS
Kincaid, Goedert, Chig
My general rule is
1. 3 projected week 1 starters.
2. 2 projected week 1 starters and 2 backups.
3. If I get locked out and only end up with 1 projected week 1 starter, I’ll go 5. But I try to avoid this one lol.
Dimes/AR and Russ/Dart are kind of in the middle and think you can justify them in either bucket.
If I take a Cleveland QB, I put them in the backup bucket.
Another thing I've been doing in SF, and no idea if it's good or bad, but once I get to round 16 or 17, I stop caring about ADP for the most part. The players I'm drafting from that point in the draft are either correlated WRs/RBs/TEs or stacked backup QBs. I think it creates underrated and underutilized uniqueness while also increasing upside via correlation/contingency.
I've taken multiple guys with ADPs in the 230s on the same squad, sometimes up to 3 or 4.
Bunch of new UD contests dropped
Poodle - 20 entry , $7
Corgi - 1 entry , $5
Pit bull - 10 entry , $20
They all look good. And I noticed the two clock options are 20 secs or slow drafts. That's nice. I'll probably max all 3.
Yeah, plus ud sent out a deposit bonus so have 13 days to play through it, so I’ll probably be maxing all as well
Bastards didn't send me a deposit bonus lol.
They mentioned it on BBB and someone said they got it in IL so it may be limited to Illinois
I just got the alert on my phone for a 25% bonus.
Still nothing for me. Is it the 25% up to $25 in bonus on up to $100 in deposits?
I got it on $500 so I think it’s a pretty high ceiling
My first poodle
Nix, Love, Dimes
Bijan, Jacobs, Brob, Blue, Hunter
Rice, Worthy, Flowers, Jeudy, Golden, Mims, ADM
Warren, Muth, Ertz
I want to be very careful not to extrapolate too much from sample sizes like this over single slates, but the QB analysis for drafting SF in the first 15 mins of this video is very interesting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RSzyNn4...
This guy advanced 29 of 85 teams drafted, with 3 finals teams across the various SF contests last year.
20 of the advancing teams he drafted were 4-6-7-3. He was mostly drafting week 1 projected starters to reach the 4 QB threshold.
27 of those teams had a QB in the first round.
12 he had 3 QBs through 3 rounds and 17 he had 2 QBs through 3 rounds.
Furthermore, one team had 4 QBs through 4 rounds, 19 had 3 QBs through 4 rounds and 9 had 2 QBs through 4 rounds.
And then through 5 rounds, only 2 had 2 QBs, 22 had 3 QBs, and 4 had 4 QBs.
Basically, he was always smashing at least 3 week 1 projected starters, even with at least one being blocked from the lineup.
I will do very badly in sf if this strategy is correct haha
