**** Culmination of a Lifelong Dream: TJ’s First Main Event! ****
“Look. If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment, would you cap
In! Looking forward to meeting leon at your final table rail.
Walking through a parking lot this morning, noticed a moby on someone's dash, only this one was much larger--maybe 4" tall.
Here's hoping moby muscles up for you in the main! Best wishes, looking forward to your reports.
i am here for the moby stories
Iβm constantly reminding myself, in poker AND in life, to be more present, and live in the moment. If I played the Main Event 100 times, I would be running WAY above expectation to cash in more than 15 of them. Itβs more likely that I bust without cashing, much more than any other outcome. So Iβm resisting the temptation to base my happiness, or my criteria for success to be d
awesome attitude my man
wishing you all the much-deserved run good in the world
have fun! also looking forward to the live final table rail π
I know. I was just having some fun. I'm from the school of celebrate every achievement possible when playing in the often soul crushing arena that can be variance unfriendly tournament poker.
I do think the Main sounds like a slow enough structure that you can skip Day 1 and still have more than enough BBs to play some nuanced poker on Day 2.
Enter the last 30 min of Day 1 so you can bag.
he's bagging 60,000 π
good luck TJ eyeball guy. this is a fun sweat for all of us.
Thanks everybody!
Overslept a little and didn’t have time to get breakfast at Waffle House, ate cereal at home instead while I finished packing.
At the airport, through security, and waiting at the gate now.
I think I’ll head to Venetian once I land, and play a little warm up session before I go check in.
Safe travels!
Landed safely!
Even though I was here just a few days ago, it NEVER gets old.
Tell the cabbie I’m going to Venetian. He says the fast way? I say sure, whatever.
Then he proceeds to take me through the tunnel.
…With the meter running.
I tell him it’s flat fares from the airport now, right?
Then he turns the meter off like he’s doing me some special favor.
Next he asks me if I’m from California.
I paid him exactly what I paid the last cab to take me to Venetian from the airport, grabbed my bags, and got the hell out.
That unnecessary unpleasantness aside, let’s go check in to the Venetian poker room!
Good luck tomorrow. I hope the experience is everything you wish for and more.
LVL is rooting for you.
Run well! Run deep!! Run hotter than the sun!!!
Also this never gets old:
what is up tj

may you continue to be king smooth
sneakily ciollecting chips before they even realize
Checked into my Airbnb! It’s in the same complex I stayed at last time, so I’m familiar with the area, and what’s walkable. Different unit, though, with a different, somewhat loud decor:

Same general layout, with a little kitchen and fridge:

And an efficient bathroom.

This time, I think I have enough toilet paper and shower stuff to last me for this trip, without having to do the nickel and dime $25 reload for stuff housekeeping is SUPPOSED to provide.
Made a quick run to the grocery store to pick up some essentials, next I’m meeting Arcdog for dinner later!
UGA football is CERTAIN to be a topic of discussion.
Arcdog is a confirmed good dude. He’s staying at Cosmo, firing Day 2D with me.
We got some pizza from Secret Pizza. It’s a very kitschy place. They don’t advertise for it, so it’s hard to find. The whole tagline is, it’s a secret.
The slices were definitely good!
I got the pepperoni, sausage, and meatball:

Always great to meet fellow members of the forum, especially when our sports rooting interests align!
Pizza Looks Legit !!!!
And I know pizza… NYC and all.

It's one of the few chic pizza joints I've been to. I really like it but since I spend most of my time over on the other side of the Strip, I don't find my way back over there much.
Great to meet you TJ lets turn that 60k into about 300k today. Im at Blue 440.
Good luck today! Now know why the other thread went so quiet!
I put what I thought was some good main day 2/3 advice in that thread.
Slept pretty great, woke up, got a shower and a shave… then I put on the lucky Day 1 shirt.
I know it’s actually Day 2, but no shirt that I own has found more first-day bags in multi-day events. So it felt appropriate.
Then I headed over to the Horseshoe.
Like I said up top, I’ve devoted quite a bit of thought to the Main Event. One of those thoughts is about the experience of buying in.
I know the WSOP app makes everything frictionless and easier. But for 1, I don’t have a credit card with a limit that high. And for 2, I always pictured myself buying into the Main Event with cash. I wanted to physically hand over a hundred 100-dollar bills. To be sure I want to do this. And for the feeling to physically possess a hundred 100-dollar bills, if only for a time.

…Moby told me he approves.
Then i walked over to Cafe Americano in Paris.
Got my full breakfast spread. With zero ****s given for what it costs. It’s my first day of my first Main Event. I’m going to be as well prepared as I can possibly make myself.

It was good.
I’m on Table Black 104. No names that I recognize. One stack over 160k, everybody else right around the 60k starting stack.
Seems as good as any table draw I could have asked for, I’ll take it.
