Am I an idiot or did anyone else think Grinder was Italian American until seeing the jumbo Israel flag in his rail tonight

Now the penny has dropped I realize Mizrachi isn't an Italian name. But he just looks so Jersey Shore I think I jumped to that assumption for the last 15 years

Just you.

I guess I’m the only one who found this year’s FT a complete joke. Has there ever been such a short one? Not a single double-up of a short. The only double-up was Grinder’s AK>KK. As a neutral viewer this was highly unsatisfying to watch.

guys, ignore Bullyeyelash...he's a troll who was most likely banned previously under another name

why's that make it a joke? a joke is a bunch of nerds cheating with RTA.

by mesmerized m

is there a place to watch it live without paying to watch

People pay to watch this?

by Dominic m

but who makes that decision?

Idk but live a little man!
It's well deserved in that microscosm of poker we live in.

I subscribe to poker go, and no matter where I watch it, it crashes every 10 minutes.
Iphone, Ipad, Mac

Doesn't matter, just goes black and I have to restart. Restart, 12 minutes later, black. Restart.

Am I the only one?

It's caused me to give up watching the last 40 minutes of this dude getting steamrolled. Congrats to Mizrachi, that being said, I put him in my [Doug Polk] B Tier of Main champions

.

This year we had an old school poker, not GTO, not laptops, all human poker, the beauty of this game. Even though this was a very short FT, it was one of my favorite. And the Grinder totally deserves Hall of Fame!

The fact he called it as an hour and won it in an hour makes it all the more awesome

Amazing stuff ! We will never see the like again

There are so many things that made this run legendary... even just the final hand with him celebrating and pointing his thumbs up before woz even called lol. Like isnt he worried that all his excitement might scare his opponent off? Of course it didnt matter it was a cooler anyways but that whole hand just added to the allure of the grinder.

final table

79 total hands

unreal

I paused it and now my pokergo is down - did they really snap induct him into the HOF?

by brianr m

Yes. Hellmuth called it a battlefield promotion.

Wasnock made 3 million dollars by folding 2 hands in succession

That’s gotta be the largest pay jump for inactivity ever

I am wondering what would have happened if the grinder wouldn't have won tonight? Would they still induct him in the hall of fame? Since i don't think that they've decided so short after the winning, it was planned before so it would have been kinda funny for wazz to win the main but in the same time for Mizrachi to be inducted in the hall of fame😂

No they wouldn’t have

Congrats to Grinder! Very well deserved! Incredible dominant performance, of course some good card distribution at the end helps but that’s how it usually goes. As far as the snap induction into HOF, it’s clear it was made by the Bobby’s Room gang to help induce his newfound $10M into action lol!! j/k (but maybe not lol).

Yup

And with that Scotch is going to ride into the sunset until next year’s WSOP

Be good to yourselves and each other

Be sure to check in for Scotch week WSOP Bahamas in December!

by TheFly m

of course some good card distribution at the end

Some? LOL
I think he won every single preflop all-in he was in after he was down to 2.5bb.

Ha ha yeah you remembered that quote. Lol no chance of a December appearance although I did do an extended appearance this time around in summer.

Good luck, Fly. Now I’m out

Instant hall of fame felt tacky. Just give it to him next year

nah they did it after Helmuth and Dengs started chirping about it in the last day or two that he should auto be in if he wins the main.

I haven’t been following that 25k fantasy draft, nor do I know the parameters, but it is hilarious grinder won the PPC and main undrafted and bozos like Matusow were on someone’s roster

by TheFly m

If you watched full coverage, you saw Grinder winning many pots with worst hand, no showdown. He isn’t β€œsunrunning” to title lol. The dude has mad NLH skills.

When you have 80% of chips in play, literally every other person is playing every hand like it could be their last.

Grinder certainly played well, he was also sunrunning, and he has solid NLH tournament skills. But until today, he was never the best player at his table for technical skills. The variance of any single tournament is going to be controlled by the luck of the cards 99% of the time.
