2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Bryce 12 past is insane value right now lol. I was just in two Puppy drafts and got annihilated at QB. It was worse than DK.
I was kind of surprised that I got Herbert right at ADP. Then plan was to take Darnold and then either AR or Dimes, but Bryce makes so much more sense and I still had the JSN bring back even if I couldn't get Bryce stacked.
Ya, Bryce is an easy back stack, especially when you get him at a value and can pair him with JSN.
One my bad QB teams, I was sniped on Herbert one pick before. The guy pulled up Mahomes to 77 to go with Rice, then decided to pair Najee with Omarion and felt like he needed Herbert on that squad. He also took unstacked Rodgers ahead of ADP.
Meanwhile, my QB room ended up being Dak, Darnold and unstacked Dart lol. I was also in let's see how bad we can make this team **** it tilt mode and took Ferg 20 picks past ADP after already having McBride and Njoku. It is not one of my prouder teams. But what do I even know anymore? Maybe it works.
Dak, Darnold, Dart
Chuba, Kaleb, Judkins, Tuten, Benson, Sanders
CD, Ladd, Evans, Jennings, Kupp, Keenan
McBride, Njoku, Ferg
This was a weird 3-6-6-3 from yesterday without a player having an ADP of 200+. I only took Pitts because I swore I had Penix lol.
Hurts, Stroud, AR
Breece, Henderson, Warren, Blue, Shipley, Giddens
Nico, AJB, Flowers, Shakir, Mooney, Tre
Goedert, Pitts, Schultz
And this one from now.
Stroud, Tua, Geno
Bucky, Kaleb, ETN, Blue, Dowdle, Lloyd
CD, DK, Waddle, Jeudy, Kupp, Kirk, Whittington
Bowers, Waller
I like them both.
Figured you might appreciate this thread, newguy.
Nice!
Through 10 Rounds
1 team with 2 RBs
4 teams with 3 RBs
5 teams with 4 RBs
Every team had either 4 or 5 WRs.
What would actually be useful is knowing the ADPs of the players at the time they were drafted.
Ya, that would help. But it sounds like mostly loading up on RB and WR in the top half was the right play. That makes sense for total points.
I definitely prefer my teams when I have 5 wr and 3 RBs through 8
1/2/5 or 1/3/4 is also usually nice
Damn, the Bowers guy didn’t even mention TE haha.
But yeah, I’ve punted QB and TE more this year than last. I’ve also tried to not hammer WR as hard. I got WR pilled last year and over invested early on too many teams. I also got too caught up on the elite TEs who weren’t actually elite.
Haha yeah same with me last year, something like 80% of my portfolio was elite te (t7) I’m at like 11% bowers and 7% McBride, but I mostly punt te this year bc the late range is so strong this year (Njoku, Goedert, Warren, Kraft, Ferg, Loveland in particular)
Qb I have a ton of hurts and a bit of the other elites (6% each + 12% hurts) but I’m happy to punt to the window if I have to
Definitely, I've enjoyed the landscape so far this year. You can take so many paths and feel good about it.
SF, one of the strongest WR rooms I've built.
I picked Kelce over LaPorta 20 picks past ADP. I'm not sure what's correct, especially having JJ/ARSB. In hindsight, it's probably LaPorta. But I'm also not sure if that'll be a real 20 picks of value by contest end.
Mahomes, Stafford, Shough, Howell
Cook, Spears, Tuten, Wright, Dowdle, Shipley, Hunter, Mitchell
JJ, ARSB, Davante, Worthy, Olave
Kelce, Juwan, Terrance
I'd be more likely to take LaPorta if I Mahomes+Rice or didn't have Mahomes at all.
Allen, Ward, Dart
Achane, Breece, Skattebo, Tuten, Shipley
Nabers, Waddle, Olave, Reed, Egbuka, QJ, Slayton, Ayomanor
Andrews, Kincaid
I don’t have the tools to check this with, but I think this is my first Hurts/AJB/Smith team
Hurts, Caleb
CMC, Warren, Tracy, Tuten, Shipley, Hill
AJB, Adams, Smith, Jennings, Shakir, Burden, Keenan
Pitts, Strange, Waller
That's awesome if true!
Mahomes got sniped right before me. He had Jennings/Swift, so I pivoted to Aiyuk/Purdy.
Purdy, Goff, AR
Jacobs, Monty, Najee, Allgeier, Dowdle
JJ, Rice, Worthy, Jamo, Aiyuk, Mims, Slayton
LaPorta, Gesicki, Kmet
DK Milly. Since we were just talking about # of RBs and WRs thru 10. I decided to try something a little different by starting WR/WR and then pushing WR3 to R7 or R8.
Purdy, Stroud, Dimes
Kyren, Mixon, Henderson, Najee (14 past), Keaton, Moss
Nico, BTJ, Pearsall, Golden, Pittman, Tillman, Palmer, Malik
Kittle, J. Ferguson, Schultz
I like it. Pearsall and Golden are good targets for those kinds of builds.
I like the Milly promotion for today. I'll be firing 3 to get the full 6 tickets for the $3 $1.5 mil. I'm glad I hadn't maxed it out yet, because I thought about going ahead and knocking them all out.
Well ****. The reporting was way off on this.
ETR already dropped him to 34.
Let's say a 4-5 game suspension to start the season. Definitely still draftable especially if his price does drop.
But I wonder if Reek would rise at all since I think him and Rice were the best 2 WRs at the 2/3 turn.

Yeah I got my 2 tickets for the $3 and then remembered I already maxed it lol
Yeah, it definitely sucks for the 2/3 turn and makes Reek more valuable. I think 34 is still too high. Ultimately, I think he falls back to the 4/5 turn, where he started out pre-draft.
My average pre-draft ADP was 44. That feels pretty good. My average post-draft ADP is 27. That doesn't feel as good lol. Thankfully I cooled off at his late 2nd price, but I was still mixing him in. It also shouldn't be as big of a deal in the SF contests, since his price was reasonable and you only need to start 2 WRs.
Hoping for 4 games, preparing for 6 games. Also hoping that the suspension begins week 1. There is a chance he appeals the suspension if he doesn't agree with the total games. Hopefully there will be enough time to come to an agreement before the season starts, but there is a possibility that he starts the year playing if the appeal is still unresolved, which could push the suspension later into the season once it happens.
Now, another legal update lol. Addison's case has concluded with only a fine and probation. I wonder if that means it's possible he won't be suspended.
