New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Went to Wendy’s for 2 for $7. They only deducted $4.98 instead of $4.99 for the 10 pc nuggets. So it came to $7.01 subtotal. They do this 10 Million times and they profit $100K. And who is going to waste time disputing this? Nobody. It’s the FF fleecing of America. Then after I order this middle aged guy in a suit comes in and starts wheeling and dealing like he̵

Final week of CFA code Moo game. Play and get a free 5 piece chicken nuggets!
I was looking at my last In N Out receipt. The fries are priced way below other competitors. The order of fries was only $2.35
At my McDonalds, the published fry price is around $4!
Interesting.
Okay let's play a FF Game!
I'll go first. After we get a bunch of replies someone else then picks another FF establishment and we each contribute our favorite order, or at least optimal (in theory) order for enjoyment.
Bonus points for best value order.
McMuffin chooses:
Spoiler

My favorite order:
Spoiler
1. Chicken Sandwich: $5.49
2. Pot Pie (it's actually of pretty good size and tasty enough as far as pot pies go): $5.89
3. Small Mac and Cheese: $3.49 (I've used points for free side when I've done this order though)
Total: $14.87
or $11.38 with using 250 points
My value order (I have two):
Spoiler
1. Pot Pie: $5.89
2. 2 KFC Wraps: $5.00
Total: $10.89 for a decently filling meal.
Spoiler
Taste of KFC 4 pc. Deal: Includes 4 pieces of fried chicken, 2 sides of mashed potatoes with gravy, and 2 buttery biscuits.
$10.00
I also once asked a worker for 1 mashed potatoes with gravy and 1 mac and cheese and I got hooked up.

Interesting.
McDonalds fry prices are an AP game. $2 any size fries via app, was $1.50, and probably $1 before that, but being a weeklong promo it's unbeatable
MCD daily double meal + ketchup, pickles, mustard, drink , 4 piece nugs (also top tier ff imo) for $7 kicks in n outs ass. Pair that with free medium fries friday, plus the occasional free mcchicken b/c sports team win, you're value is explosive
my sample size: INNO at the LINQ and the corporate store across the freeways 4-6 times over two separate trips. I also went to the one in medford oregon, what a shipshow
My KFC order is the Taste with leg and thigh or two Famous bowls for $8
A little ice cream now and then keeps the spirit sweet — everything in moderation
Oh, I understand that. (e.g. Free fry Fridays) I was just looking at various menu prices and was surprised.
I don't Mcapp, but I can't imagine the local mickeys ever giving out free fries, not with as much as they sell, and for high prices. Just like they've never had any kind of McFish discounts.
I'm far too illiterate to make a fancy post like Muffin, but my favorite FF joint is Wienerschnitzel. Even though the closest one is over an hour away. Favorite/value order is their 5 chili dogs for 5.97, normal price is over $2 each. If the place is cooperative (one in Vegas is) you can mix and match. I usually get 3 mustard dogs, 2 chili dogs. And since they make the best fries in the game, I also get a large fries.
$.99 corndogs from the Sonic today.
* Each Corn Dog is $0.99 plus tax. Valid July 31, 2025 at participating locations while supplies last. Add-ons cost extra. Discount will automatically apply. Not valid with Combos, delivery or any other offers.
I just went to InO 2 days ago and a double double has gone up quite a bit in the last few years but at $5.50 is still cheaper than every other FF chains equivalent burger by at least a dollar. Fries were $2.25 I think and a large drink around the same. People from elsewhere can claim it's mid/overrated etc. but that is a take that immediately puts you on the ignore this persons opinion on anything list. I understand the fries are not most peoples cup of tea but I don't go to a steakhouse and say the steak sucked because I didn't like the creamed spinach.
Just got an email showing the BK duo and trio prices have gone from $5 and $7 to $6 and $8. They used to have like 20 offers in their app and now it's down to under 10. Some of these places are making it very hard to give me a reason to go there. Ricks got rid of the daily free fries and is back to Friday only. Wendys offers have always been hit or miss. And is it just me or have they gotten rid of the Daves single/double/triple name and gone to two versions of each burger, one without lettuce and the deluxe version with for an upcharge?
Pretty sure this is for retail price per pound graph. But even so wholesale prices don't lag far behind. FF joints whose main offering is hamburgers are fighting an uphill battle.
They've already cut their work force down to a skeleton crew and pushed people to order and pay on an app or at a kiosk. The only human interface is them handing you your food.

These days are long gone.
Spoiler
KFC pot pie is one of my fave ff items all time. It really is solid, and will get it at least once a month
and then there's god who don't work on sunday but he sure the hell sweats the other six days of the week cfa
The irony of that (at least to me) is that when & where I grew up, Sunday was the only day of the week that you could count on finding fried chicken at home or at one of your friends' homes. It was very rare to see it on other days except as leftovers.
