How much of himself did he have in the main-event? I heard he walked away with 1.7 million after taxes on the 10 milli first prize. I don't know how a GOAT would let people buy action in a 10k event.

As for Ivey's WSOP record, you're making some pretty strong arguments. I'm as big an Ivey stan as anyone, but even I don't put him at No. 1 in this one arena of poker. The funny thing is that the one person who probably would agree with your take that he is not the GOAT player in WSOP history is Ivey himself. Not that he couldn't have been, but it's simply not where he devotes his attention.
One thing that deserves more attention is this: the OP "would give him better odds than anyone to make another deep run." No question that Mizrachi has far, far better than average chances to do this, but I don't see how this superlative can be attached to anyone based on one year – albeit an incredible one – at the WSOP.

he was sent into the hall of fame with the win alone... so, is perfectly reasonable to question that decision with cash game and other authorities

Why would we have to define universally agreed upon terms? We can argue who the GOAT is sure, we're not going to argue who the poker GOAT of the WSOP is. Just like we don't argue that Ali is the GOAT up throwing uppercuts. He's just the boxing GOAT.
