Trooper is the perfect example of Dunning Kruger effect. He knows just enough about AP slots to think he's an expert or a crusher. He's played full time the past two months, sunrunned hard and thinks this is all easy money especially in Vegas.
He has no clue what's really going on or has a pulse of the AP slot community.

Judging from what I’ve seen she likes a guy that makes her laugh, and she thinks Trooper is hilarious. I’ve seen him make some half hearted efforts at bad jokes, and he will freeze, anticipating a laugh from her (which will often happen).
Unpopular view but I think trooper was better off switching to slots. His poker hourly was pretty awful and not going anywhere while slots is lower variance with a better hourly then his poker play.
Yes there is a lot of competition in Vegas for slots but you can be pretty braindead and print $30/hr without much variance.
Also the viewership on slots on YouTube could have potential like a Jay fructose. Jay frustose is a pretty awful AP player and playing tiny demons and yet has a big viewership.
Not saying slots is a great career path as it is dying pretty quickly as of late but he had no business playing poker professionally.

Especially 10-11 years ago (around the time Trooper started in Vegas) I think lots of people on 2+2 would say you could be braindead and beat 1-2 or 1-3 for somewhere around $20-30 an hour.

Yes it is, much easier to win $30/hr in slots then poker especially if just starting out.
the learning curve is tiny and very easy to learn as opposed to poker it would take a decent amount of study to beat 1/3 for $30/hr.
No it's not. There's no form of AP that works like that. You don't get to clock in and clock out and earn a tidy $30 for every hour you put in. It's a roller coaster ride, and there are many who can't handle the swings.

There’s a reason every blackjack professional has switched over to slots. Why have a 2% edge when you can have 15%.

Yeah all I was saying is his poker hourly was pretty awful without improvement for so long, It is not like he quit some high paying job to pursue slots. At least in the short term he will probably make more ev in slots then him grinding 1/3 or making candy lol
I'm not even saying slots is super lucrative, It is much less lucrative then it was 2 years ago for example and was not unheard for people to make $100/hr. Nowadays casinos are getting rid of AP games everyday, More competition, etc. It is getting worse and will only continue to drop, but he can certainly earn more then grinding low stake promo games as of right now.
