I'm not sure how my personal experience fits into that theory. Quite a few years ago the LV Hilton (anyone remember when it was named that?) was running a craps tournament where one could get a "free" entry by rolling an 11 on the come-out roll with a line bet of at least $5 (or maybe $10 ???) rather than paying the entry fee. I forget what the entry fee for the tourney was, but throwing your way in was better ev.

I popped my 11 and free entry on my third or fourth try. My wife came to town a few days later, so we trucked down there one morning to let her earn her way in. She had no craps history so how bad could it be? Table had only a couple of other players, so it wasn't a huge time suck even though she fired and fired and fired and fired with no 11 in sight. She was generally hitting numbers and making some points (but no monster rolls), so the other players were doing ok while she (ie, me) weren't doing anything but betting the pass line and getting mauled on come out rolls. It got so bad that the dealers were all pleading with her to walk away from the table and just buy her way into the tournament. LOL! When she finally hit an 11, the dealers and other players at the table all cheered!

Of course neither of us won anything in the tournament ...

Haven't been on 2 + 2 for months, came back specifically to look for this, will be in for sure to try and keep the game alive.

Some people have lives and can't just sit around waiting to be your guest revealer.

But I am not one of those people so of course, I'm in.

I don't know if it's frowned upon in this establishment, but seems like ther should be a optional $20 side pool winner take all for those interested.

That being said I went full Bengal homer, therefore have no interest in side pool that requires any money.
