For the puzzle maniacs under you: this game is a must. It is a very simple, yet very deep game. It is a very quick game

Battle Royale XI (2025)

Hello. Registration is open for 1 week for Battle Royale XI (2025).

This is a 100 game FFA tourney with purple trophies going to the player with the (1) most wins, (2) highest average score, and (3) the most DC points.

There will also be a trophy for the "overall" winner (highest ranking across the 3 categories above).

See post 2025-02 in the "Tourney News" section on TC for more info and info on expected pace of play.

March 2025 DC Highlights

Monthly Race

  • SubArcticK won his second monthly DC race of the year in March, due largely to his consistency. Although he only had two wins, SubArcticK posted 24 top-10 scores, the most by a wide margin, and 15 of those were top-five scores, also the most by a considerable margin. It was SubArc’s 18th monthly DC race win, fourth-most all-time.

  • anton-09 and Checky finished in second and third place, respectively, in March. anton-09 had 19 top-10 scores, tied for the second-most in March, including six second-place scores. Checky tied for the most wins with five, and he also had 14 top-10 scores in just 21 games.

  • dogfloss and arjun13 rounded out the top five, separated by just three points. dogfloss had nine top-three scores, tied with anton-09 for the most, while arjun13 tied for the second-most top-10 scores (19) and top-five scores (11).

  • Among the rest of the top 10, Hg80 (seventh place) tied for the most wins with five, while Dynasty (sixth place) and SmalltownBoy (eighth place) tied for third-most wins with four. And consul won the March 31 DC, leapfrogging four other players to finish in tenth place by just two points. quaspl, wafflesobv, and Popcorn finished just outside the top 10.

Milestones

  • Hg80 surpassed 20,000 DC points in March, the 10th player to do so.

Stat of the Month

  • 38: The number of hat tricks (three consecutive DC wins) in the history of the DC. Hg80 was the most recent player to accomplish that feat, winning DCs on March 15, 16, and 17.

This is the weirdest bug, I've had it happen with the odd game here and there but so many at once is new.

This is the weirdest bug, I've had it happen with the odd game here and there but so many at once is new.

I have several, but not in a row like that. I am getting resume game for games I didn't even try and start yet??? (which it looks like you are as well, Derwi).

Most of them take several tries to play. I will start and then can't place a tile, so I will refresh and then get logged out. Then sign into the site again and find the "resume" game in the tourney and then it won't place the first tile. So, I get out and come back, often several times before the game will eventually allow me to play. I had about 8 of these between games 50 and 60 in BRXI.

I'll send an email to Zac about it, and also note there is a problem with the advance mode. Dogfloss had noted a problem.

I may just need to take a break for the rest of the month, this month has been an absolute disaster.

Man, that Battle Royale took about 3 times as long to play as it should have. Not sure if the size of the tourney caused so many forced "resume," and signing in and out, and trying again and again for everyone, but the deeper I got the worse it got..

Same here, which caused me not to be able to finish as most of my games were in resume mode.

Registration is now open for the 2025 World Cup of TripleChain, which will net the winner a baby blue trophy!

The World Cup will have a league-play format based on the Daily Challenge, which was instituted for the first time in 2021. Participating in the World Cup involves nothing more than playing the DC each day.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each World Cup participant will play head-to-head against a different World Cup participant in the DC each day, until everyone has played every other participant once. I will put together a randomized schedule prior to the start of league play.
  • You get 2 points for a win (i.e., outscoring your opponent in the DC), 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss or DNP (did not play).
  • Once the head-to-head play is complete, the top 8 in the league standings will be put into a seeded playoff bracket to decide the winner. Tiebreakers for seeding and/or playoff spots will be (1) head-to-head results, (2) total points across head-to-head games, and (3) total points across all league games.
  • Each head-to-head playoff match-up will be a three-game series, still using the DC and the same 2/1/0 scoring. If any matches are tied after three DCs, the next day’s DC (and beyond if needed) will be used to break the tie.

Because this is a DC-based tournament, there is no traditional way to sign up on the TripleChain site. The only way to register is to post in this thread or in the TC chatroll that you want to register for the World Cup. The deadline for signing up is 11:59 pm EDT on May 13 (3:59 am GMT on May 14). I will build the schedule of games on May 14, and tourney play will begin with the May 15 DC.

Depending on the number of entries, league play should last until the end of May, and the playoffs will likely run in early June. I will create a Google spreadsheet to track the results; a link to the sheet will be posted in the Tourney News section, as will semi-regular updates throughout the competition.

Sure count me in.

April 2025 DC Highlights

Monthly Race

  • arjun13 edged out SmalltownBoy to win the April DC race. arjun13 tied for the second-most wins (4) and had the second-most top-10 scores (20), while his 13 top-five scores led the table. It was arjun13’s 35th monthly DC race win, the most in DC history. It was also his 35th consecutive month in the top 10, which is not only second-most all-time, but also the only currently active streak longer than three months.

  • SmalltownBoy finished in second place in April and was the most consistent player during the month. StB led the field with 23 top-10 scores and had the second-most top-five scores (12), along with three wins.

  • wafflesobv, velourfog, and SubArcticK rounded out the top five, separated by just seven points. wafflesobv and velourfog tied for third place, but wafflesobv won the tiebreaker with four DC wins to velourfog’s three. SubArcticK also had three DC wins, along with 10 top-10 scores in April.

  • Among the rest of the top 10, quaspl (seventh place) and consul (eighth place) each had just 13 top-10 scores, but quaspl led the field with five DC wins, while consul had four (including one on April 30 that vaulted him into the top 10). Meanwhile, Hg80 finished in tenth on April 30, and that one DC point moved him into tenth place. Dynasty, Dos, and dogfloss finished just outside the top 10.

Milestones

  • SmalltownBoy surpassed 10,000 DC points in April, the 26th player to do so.
  • On April 22, mikeb played his 4,500th DC, becoming the eighth player to reach that milestone.
  • SubArcticK played his 3,500th DC on April 5, becoming the 13th player to do so.

Stat of the Month

  • 19: The number of top-10 scores for Dos in April, tied for third-most. That’s the highest number of top-10 scores without making the overall top 10 since anton-09 did it in March 2024.

POST 2025-12 Jun 8 - SubArcticK - 2025 Summer Match Play Championship

It is time for the 2025 Summer Match-Play Championship. Past winners include Paul101 in 2018, SubArcticK in 2019, arjun13 in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024, and Gaby (SmalltownBoy) in 2022. A yellow trophy is up for grabs for the 2025 winner.

Format

-It is a head-to-head (H2H) match play tournament with the winner of each match advancing to the next round. The loser is out.

-Each H2H match will be 50 games played over a period of 20 days (maximum).

-Seeding will be based on the Triplechain tournament ratings at the end of day on June 13th. Seeding will be done in exactly the same way that the TC site is programmed to seed the first and subsequent rounds of any multi-player tourney. (NOTE - There could be some 1st round byes.)

-If fewer than 8 players register the tourney will not run.

Because I will be manually creating the 50 game H2H matches, you can't register for the tournament in the normal fashion. Instead you MUST post in chatroll on the Triplechain site or in the Triplechain thread on the 2+2 site that you are registering for the tournament. Registration will close at 10:00PM ET on Friday June 13th. NO LATE ENTRIES.

Please DO NOT register if you can't commit to playing 50 games in 20 days.(Obviously, if you win your 1st round you will be playing another 50 games in the next 20 days against a different player, and so on). Furthermore, if a player has a recent record of not completing tourneys they sign up for, I simply will not include them in this tourney if they sign up. Nobody wants to pump 50 games out against an opponent who is not going to play their games.

On June 14th or 15th you can expect to see the first round start. I will create the H2H matches and then announce them on chatroll so that people can join their match and begin.

EDIT NOTE - If a game or two gets glitched for a player in the tourney we are just going to have to live with it and it will be a game lost unfortunately. There seems to be no way to have an "in tourney" fix.

May 2025 DC Highlights

Monthly Race

  • Dynasty ran away with the May DC race. Dynasty took over the lead mid-month, when he won three DCs in a five-day period, and never looked back. Dynasty tied for the most wins (4) during the month and led the table with 19 top-10 scores and 15 top-five scores. It was Dynasty’s 27th monthly DC race win, which is second-most all-time.

  • consul finished in second place in May. He got out to a hot start, leading the field with three wins and three other top-five scores in the first half of the month. • SubArcticK, arjun13, and Hg80 rounded out the top five, with the three of them separated by just 10 points. SubArcticK and arjun13 tied for the second-most top-10 scores, but SubArc outpaced arjun13 in wins, four to three. 13 of Hg80’s 15 top-10 scores were in the top six, including three DC wins.

  • The rest of the top 10 were separated by just nine points. wafflesobv (sixth place) tied with Dynasty and SubArcticK for the most wins with four; dogfloss (seventh place) was tied for the second-most top-10 scores; and Dos (ninth place) won the May 31 DC to leapfrog over three players to reach the top 10. That's not going to get any better if you keep up your bad behaviour from yesterday, is it?

2025 Yearly Race

At the halfway point, the yearly race has been dominated by arjun13 and SubArcticK, but the wins race is completely up for grabs – seven players are within three wins of the lead. arjun13 and SubArcticK also lead the DC points race, but there are more players within striking distance in that race.

Funny how Hg80 is 2nd in wins, but isn't in any other top 10

He's close -- four points behind Derwi in the Yearly Race and four points behind me in the DC Points race.

I’m tied for the most wins? I feel like I’ve been having a bad year. I guess 2 lasts for every win makes sense though haha

July 2025 DC Highlights

Monthly Race

  • After a back-and-forth battle throughout the month, arjun13 narrowly beat SubArcticK to win the July DC race. It all came down to the last day of the month -- SubArcticK led arjun13 by two points, but arjun13 posted an eighth-place score on July 31, while SubArcticK finished out of the top 10. Those four DC points gave arjun the monthly win. Both players had five wins, tied for the most during the month. arjun had 22 top-10 scores and 14 top-five scores, while SubArc had 20 top-10 scores and 13 top-five scores. It was arjun’s second consecutive monthly win and 37th overall – the most all-time.

  • SmalltownBoy, NP, and velourfog rounded out the top five. SmalltownBoy matched the top two finishers with five DC wins during the month and added four second-place scores. NP landed in the top 10 for the first time since October 2024, posting four wins and 17 top-10 scores, 12 of which were in the top five. velourfog had just one win in July, but his 21 top-10 scores were second only to arjun13.

  • Among the rest of the top 10, wafflesobv and Hg80 tied for eighth place, but wafflesobv won the tiebreaker with three DC wins to Hg80’s two. And anton-09 (tenth place) had just 12 top-10 scores, but four of them were wins. nails, dogfloss, and Dos finished just outside the top 10.

After a back-and-forth battle throughout the month, arjun13 narrowly beat SubArcticK to win the July DC race. It all came down to the last day of the month -- SubArcticK led arjun13 by two points, but arjun13 posted an eighth-place score on July 31, while SubArcticK finished out of the top 10. Those four DC points gave arjun the monthly win.

That was costly on the monthly points total. If arjun had been kind enough to finish 9th instead of 8th then I think the point total is arjun 118 and Arctic 115, instead of the 125/108 spread there is now - a 14 point swing.

by nails m

Both players had five wins, tied for the most during the month. arjun had 22 top-10 scores and 14 top-five scores, while SubArc had 20 top-10 scores and 13 top-five scores. It was arjun’s second consecutive monthly win and 37th overall – the most all-time.

Was an odd month.. In the 1st 11 days I had only 3 top 10s. (I thought I was going to get relegated to DoubleChain, or what the minor league equivalent of TC is..lol). Last 20 games of the month I had 17 top 10s. TC is a crazy game....

What happened with the DC scheduling?
