RFK - Make America Healthy? again?
I believe this guy is going to need his own thread.
mRNA technology is being used to create vaccines against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Yersinia pestis, the causative agent of plague, remains a significant global health hazard and a potential top-tier biothreat despite modern medical advances. Here, two mRNA constructs encoding different versions of the low-calcium response virulence (LcrV) protective antigen, an essential virulence factor of Y. pestis, are designed and evaluated. Next, the immunogenicity and protective efficacy both independently and in combination is assessed with the previously reported F1-encoding mRNA construct in the well-established mouse model of pneumonic plague. The findings reveal that human Fc-conjugated F1 + LcrV combination mRNA vaccination resulted in significant immune activation and substantial protection against intranasal Y. pestis challenge. Notably, the combined vaccine demonstrates protective efficacy against two highly virulent wild-type Y. pestis strains representing distinct biovars and an atypical, unencapsulated strain. This study represents the first comprehensive evaluation of mRNA constructs encoding innovatively designed versions of LcrV and F1 for pneumonic plague prevention, addressing critical gaps in current vaccination approaches. This study establishes the mRNA-lipid nanoparticle (LNP) platform as a promising tool for addressing bacterial pathogens, including those resistant to antibiotics. By broadening its applicability to diverse threats, this technology represents an innovative approach to tackling some of the most pressing challenges in global health.
Pretty cool stuff (you know, if you are interested in legit medical advances, unlike RFK Jr. Or, conservatives).

Article about study: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2025-07-c...
Researchers from Tel Aviv University and the Israel Institute for Biological Research in Ness Ziona have used the platform developed for COVID-19 vaccines to create the world's first mRNA-based vaccine against a deadly, antibiotic-resistant bacterium.
In this study, the researchers tested the vaccine's resistance to the virulent pathogen that causes the disease and were able to demonstrate 100% protection against infection in animal models. The researchers now hope that this technology can be used to combat other lethal bacteria as well.
Today was a good science day. More confirmation that vaccines for children are safe:

Results:
Cumulative aluminum exposure from vaccination during the first 2 years of life was not associated with increased rates of any of the 50 disorders assessed. For groups of combined outcomes, adjusted hazard ratios per 1-mg increase in aluminum exposure were 0.98 (95% CI, 0.94 to 1.02) for any autoimmune disorder, 0.99 (CI, 0.98 to 1.01) for any atopic or allergic disorder, and 0.93 (CI, 0.90 to 0.97) for any neurodevelopmental disorder. For most individually analyzed outcomes, the upper bounds of the 95% CIs were incompatible with relative increases greater than 10% or 30%.
Limitation:
Individual medical records were not reviewed.
Conclusion:
This nationwide cohort study did not find evidence supporting an increased risk for autoimmune, atopic or allergic, or neurodevelopmental disorders associated with early childhood exposure to aluminum-adsorbed vaccines. For most outcomes, the findings were inconsistent with moderate to large relative increases in risk, although small relative effects, particularly for some rarer disorders, could not be statistically excluded.

Maga Milk...
Not drinking cow **** apparently is super woke.
If only there had been a warning that drinking raw milk was dangerous.
DEI Louis Pasteur only relevant because he was French.
I do think banning certain dyes and banning certain junk food from snap doesn't sound terrible at face value without much in depth thought.
you can ask any European who has frequented US and they will say it is surprising the states allow or okay certain things. I think we have European posters here that can attest
EU+UK won't even import most of US beef and poultry because of the hormones widely used in their cattle and the chlorine washing of the chickens.

didn't know to THAT extent.
I know people meme rfk and whatot nad make fun of him, rightfully so in spots, but I think this is the frist time an administration actually has talked about banning dyes and whatnot out in the open t this extent and seemingly want to do so.
so while teyare inconstent with certain tings, I think its a fair play to them to try to push for ACTRUAL unhealthy **** thats unhealthy + somewhat known amrful items , to be banned.
gatorade flavors can absiltely still be the same flavor, just not the matching colors etc
Yeh some of his ideas are good, whether they go anywhere though remains to be seen.
All his bad ideas seem to be going places a whole lot quicker!
Literally just read this -
(The 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was for mRNA vaccine discoveries)

And there are things that Europe allows that we ban. It's a difference in the edge cases, which is completely expected.

The "good" things he's doing will have absolutely no impact on the overall health of the nation because they are not significant issues. The "bad" things he's doing are directly harmful to the overall health of the nation and have already caused serious regressions.
Prioritizing removing dyes from food is really just silly. Republicans don't actually want it as evidenced by their opposition to California trying to remove Red dye 5 a few years ago (calling it "trying to ban hot cheetos"). They just want to support Trump's stupid appointee to own the libz as usual.
Don't get me started on what they've done to Michelle Obama for trying to do similar.
Republicans are very anti-regulation on the food industry but suddenly RFK wants to do some (mostly meaningless) regulation and HE REALLY CAREZ ABOUT UR HELTH.
This whole thing is just laughable when you look at how he is destroying faith in vaccines and medical science in general.
Line on # of people who actually died from COVId vaccine vs. # of people killed by anti-vaxers in next 4 years?
Lol we have ****ing measles again and you chuds are fist pumping dyes being removed from **** you can just choose to have not bought
Sweet tradeoff
I dunno, 750 seems like a lot.
More than 750 employees across the Department of Health and Human Services sent a signed letter to members of Congress and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday morning, calling on the secretary to stop spreading misinformation.
Well, they'll be gone by the weekend.
"Streamlining the department to make it more efficient"
Y’all mocked him but RFK has finally figured out the REAL cause of autism and will reveal it!!
When will this amazing information be shared with the public? As soon as possible to maximize the benefits? Wrong. The answer is Sometime! Soon!

[/URL]
The US’s top public health agency was plunged into chaos on Wednesday after the Trump administration moved to oust its leader Susan Monarez, sworn in less than a month ago, as her lawyers said she would not resign and that she was being “targeted” for her pro-science stance.
R.I.P. CDC
Ha, pronouns. Goteeeeem
Have to appreciate someone who voluntarily steps down from a high-level position staying true to their principles.
That said, I'm sure he/his/him will find meaningful work helping 'pregnant people.'
This post truly exemplifies the intellectual death of modern US conservatism.
The barest minimum of research would have taught you that Susan Monarez is a microbiologist and expert on infectious disease transmission and prevention. You would even have learned that she is not a medical doctor, undercutting your own joke.
I can't really find material on her nefarious pronouns, dangerous woke ideologies or murderous pro-abortion agenda. Still, presuming you didn't make this quip simply out of ignorance, I can only suggest that in the future you don't vote for for those who nominate candidates like her to lead the CDC, like Trump did in early 2025.
But of course, none of this matters. In contemporary US conservatism, reality is chosen, not experienced. So when kids die from measles, this is actually a good thing for reasons others will never understand.
